Everywhere With You: A Midwestern Gay Holiday Romance (Just Like That Book 2) Kindle Edition

4.4 out of 5 stars 37 ratings

Sam and Will are in love. And by the end of winter break, everyone in Chicago is going to know it.

After the summer that changed their lives forever, they've spent an entire semester apart. Now they're finally home for the holidays. For two college guys who are still new to this whole "first romance" thing, spending Christmas with their small-town families brings an unexpected set of challenges. But support can sometimes come from the most surprising places.

An escape to nearby Chicago proves to be the perfect way to spend their first New Year's Eve together. The Windy City's vibrant gay community introduces farm boys Sam and Will to a world they'd never even imagined. New experiences and new choices give them the most memorable experiences of their life together...so far.

But the biggest obstacle in the way of their happiness might just be Sam himself.

Read the sequel to the book that reviewers called "passionate," "heartbreakingly vivid," "heartwarming," "uplifting," and "really (REALLY) hot," and experience what it's like to fall in love for the very first time.

The wonderful, amazing, beautiful love story of Sam and Will continues. Yes, Sam and Will are pretty dang sure of their love for each other, but how will they navigate the gay scene in a big city? How will they deal with jealousy, insecurity, and new aspects of their sex life? Read and see.

I relate so much to Sam and his worries. He is such a sweet, soft character. I want to hug him. And Will! Is he ready to throw a punch for the man he loves? For sure.

Barrow's writing is on point. Her words welcome you into the day-to-day of these two adorable characters, and it's so hard to leave. I love spending time with Sam and Will! I can't wait to read more about their lives together!

‘Everywhere With You’ was one of my best reads so far in 2019. This book takes up where ‘Just Like That’ left off. Potential readers should definitely read the first book before this one. Barrow created a couple of great characters in college Sophomores, Sam and Will. They are so realistic and the kind of guys I’d enjoy being friends with in real life. Their relationship is amazing! I wonder how many times actual people decide to become life partners after being childhood best friends? Regardless, it makes for an exceptional story here.

Barrow wrote this book in third person. (I feel that more writers ought to try this rather than using dual perspective first person.) I thoroughly enjoyed the winter break vacation theme of ‘Everywhere ‘. The Chicago setting was perfect. The last few chapters, especially, touched me emotionally.

Both the editing and proofing were spot-on, and the Kindle formatting was perfect on my iPad. Lovemaking of every sort is plentiful throughout this book, for readers who like to know about that kind of thing.

Both books in this series are on my definitely recommended list!

    2.5 stars

As much as I like Will and Sam, I think this book was a bit of an overkill. This book has over 400 pages and it was honestly 80% s*x and 20% actual story. It took me days to get through this book and if you know me, you would know that is very unusual for me. I was dragging my feet with this one.

I think this book could have been cut in half and it would have fared better. It was like 300 pages were spent on their trip in Chicago. It consisted of them going out, exploring the city, coming back to their hotel and having s*x. Rinse, repeat, rinse repeat. I get it! I did not need pages upon pages spent detailing the day to day experience of the entire trip.

I like Will and Sam. They are young, in love and they are an adorably cute couple. I just think this book could have showed all that in half the pages.

If you're going to make a book over 400 pages I suggest utilizing some of those pages with more story. And there was potential for a greater story line in this book, such as: 1. Mrs. Thompson's initial reaction to Will coming out. However, that was ignored into the 90%mark. 2. The reactions of the towns folk. After all they come from a small town in the mid-west and let's just say the mid-west is not known for being gay friendly. 3. The book could of been a book on how to navigate through a long distance relationship. This relationship is fresh, they just went from being best friends to being lovers in book 1. Book 2 could have showed how these two guys who use to live next to one another now have to figure out how to make their relationship work while being states away. I would have been here for that. So again, there was potential for greater story lines but the book went in a different direction. A lot of the more important things were more or less glossed over.

Reading a book with a successful gay couple working out in a relationship does make me happy. Unfortunately, this book failed in the story telling department, and like another reviewer mentioned before, this reads more like FanFic. I know it's a series and I do hope the next book has more of story in it.

So well written with more than just smut (and believe me-there's PLENTY. Like. So so so much smut). Great characters and a love that would make anyone jealous.

I hope to see more from Barrow soon!

This book was still well written and engaging, but this time around the dialogue between the two 20-year-old main characters was super flowery. Romantic as all get out, but super duper unrealistic. Otherwise, it was a fun, fast-paced read.

Gorgeous storytelling with the most amazing relationship I've ever read. Sam and Will will make you believe that soul mates exist, thrive, and can live happily ever after. And can we just talk about the sex scenes for a moment? Wanting a gay romance novel with SIZZLING sex scenes? THIS IS IT. It starts off quickly with these two home from college. Their winter vacation sounds heavenly from the activities they do, the friends they make and the stronger partnership they become. I couldn't put it down and can't wait to read it again and again. Fabulous from the very first page to the very last. Excited to see what else Clara W Barrow publishes in the future, she's a favorite.

5.0 out of 5 stars A hymn to the depths of real love

After the sweet heartache throughout the first book, this one more than makes up for that uncertain coming of age and takes these two best through the blissful heights of first, only, exploring love. The entire book is suffused with a generous glow, the sweetest feelings, connected to and just as generously interspersed with both physical and emotional closeness, that overpowering need to be the one with the other, touching and, most of all, feeling. The few interesting conflicts with the world around them keep the story moving, but the angst in this book is so low that only the overwhelming sense of the beauty of two in love down to the depths of their souls shines out.
