Katie Wyatt is 25% American Sioux Indian. Born and raised in Arizona, she has traveled and camped extensively through California, Arizona, Nevada, Mexico, and New Mexico. Looking at the incredible night sky and the giant Saguaro cacti, she has dreamed of what it would be like to live in the early pioneer times.

Spending time with a relative of the great Wyatt Earp, also named Wyatt Earp, Katie was mesmerized and inspired by the stories he told of bygone times. This historical interest in the old West became the inspiration for her Western romance novels.

Her books are a mixture of actual historical facts and events mixed with action and humor, challenges and adventures. The characters in Katie’s clean romance novels draw from her own experiences and are so real that they almost jump off the pages. You feel like you’re walking beside them through all the ups and downs of their lives. As the stories unfold, you’ll find yourself both laughing and crying. The endings will never fail to leave you feeling warm inside.

Sweet, exciting story of a young girl who lost everything due to her father who gambled his life away. She sells everything to pay off his debts and writes to a man seeking a mail order bride.

Richard is the eldest of seven brothers. The younger six are all married and have families. They take it upon themselves to place a mail order bride ad to find a woman for their brother.

This was a great story, but confusing in the first few chapters as Hannah had decided to change her name for the correspondence due to her fathers deeds. Unfortunately the editor apparently missed it and it kept changing from Bartholomew to Bannister back and forth. Other than that, I enjoyed the book.

I enjoyed this book as I do with most everything Katie Wyatt writes. However, I found one big problem which was also mentioned by another reviewer. Hannah Bartholomew wrote to her future husband using the fictitious name of Bannister. I couldn't figure out how the post office knew to deliver the responses to Hannah when she wasn't using her real name. Also, when the bad buys wrote to Hannah in Appleton, WA, they addressed the letter to Miss Bartholomew. How did the post office know to deliver it her to when the people of Appleton only knew her as Hannah Bannister? The author kept getting confused with the use of the surnames which was distracting! Otherwise, it was a good story.

A truly sweet love story. Mail order brides were really a part of our history, but not all of them were as amazing as Hannah's. Easy reading that I think you will enjoy.

What a lovely sweet story, and well written.
It wasn't until I read the epilogue that I realised Hannah was Mrs Maisy of Mrs Maisy's mail order brides!! What an endearing story, Richard and Hannah were made for each other and the extended family so heart warming in their acceptance of Hannah in light of her white lies and the following events.
I plan on reading the series which I look forward to and I would thoroughly recommend this book.
