About the authors
Palvi Sharma has been fascinated with horror stories ever since she picked up her first Stephen King novel.
Ever since then she's been trying to read as many horror novels as she can get her hands on.
In her free time she enjoys watching horror movies and blogging about them on her blog Dark Horror Tales.
Palvi Sharma is also an assistant editor and has helped several authors with their manuscripts and helped promote horror authors.
Ken Newman has loved stories of the supernatural since listening to his grandmother's folk tales of witches, angels, haints, and catawamps when he was a child. Author of the paranormal thrillers Forsaken, Bedeviled, and The Witch Tattoo, his fiction reflects his Tennessee roots and his love for all things-that-go-bump-in-the-night.
Mixing folklore and modern themes, with just right sprinkle of romance, Ken's novels create a twisted universe of supernatural creatures and larger-than-life heroes where nothing is as it seems. He has now added to his science fiction resume of The Ark and Dead Ends with his newest novel, The God Machine. It is pure escapism at its best.
When not writing, he enjoys sculpting, cheesy monster movies, and building the occasional trebuchet.
A member of the International Thriller Writers Association, Ken lives in East Tennessee with his wife Christian and their three daughters.
I have been writing since I was old enough to hold a #2 pencil against a pad of blue-lined yellow paper. My first inspiration was Jingles, the Happy Cobbler though I can't say how inspired my kindergarten class was by my reading of the story.
I am amazed by the diversity of the Earth, by her cultures and her mythologies, her symbolisms and her colors that spring so incessantly from that stream, as Joseph Campbell writes, that bubbles up from the deepest reaches of our collective unconscious to influence and inform and ultimately to unify the universes that flow within and without us.
In 1985, I had the distinct privilege of interviewing Dr. Elisabeth Kubler-Ross for my one-act play Windstorm. Here was a celebrated doctor who had penetrated the fourth wall, who saw visions, who communicated with the dead, and who, through her visions, taught us more about, as she said, not how to die, but how to live.
While producing the play festival CelebrateWomen, I interviewed another great woman, Cahuilla elder Katherine Siva Saubel. Dr. Saubel, like Dr Ross, was a great healer, and a great visionary. She could call the wind by whistling for it to blow down from the mountains to cool the steaming valley below. From her oral history, I wrote first the play We Are Still Here; then, as a recipient of a California Council for the Humanities grant, I adapted the play for a documentary of the same title.
"The film also portrays the Creation mythology of the Cahuilla, performed by a Native American cast, which is well done and sustains viewer interest. There are a lot of important ideas and traditions illuminated here. [The]film [s] will be appreciated by history buffs, students of Native American history, and general viewers.--Margaret B. Miller, Univ. of South Dakota Lib., Vermillion"--Library Journal Review.
I have written numerous award-winning plays and screenplays. My plays have been produced in New York City and Los Angeles and regionally.
In 2010, I wrote my debut novel, The Women Debrowska, the story of a family interwoven with 250 years of Polish history and the indomitable spirit of the Polish people.
"...Very beautiful, powerful, and deeply touching...Besides that... it is a love letter to Poland..." M. Serra
"When the plane crashed...carrying the Polish statesmen..I felt as if they were brethren of mine. Ms. Podgorski's saga told the story of Polish history in a way that made its memories mine." C Herron
"The story is powerful and heartbreaking, and at heart, a love story..." Jackie Maxwell
"Flowing with great energy and speed..." G White
"... a saga of love, inter-generational (and international) family affairs, and history..." Douglas Glenn Clark
In 2011, I published Ouray's Peak, a coming age novel that follows the journey of Kristin Tabor as she treks cross-country journey to find her mother, and eventually, her heart.
2012 saw the publication of the first two books of the Stone Quest Series: Deset Chimera and Gallows Ascending which follow the journey of recluse, tracker, and reluctant pyschic visionary Luke Stone, and take the reader deep within Luke's paranormal universe.
I am currently writing mostly historical romance, but also dabble in fantasy, crime/suspense, short stories and love to try new genres. Food plays a fun part in all of my writing, and I also write a food blog in my spare time.
As the moderator of our local writers group, I am privileged to hang out with a group of really creative writers who have all helped me grow my skills as a writer.
Besides writing, I love cooking, baking, candy making, photography, and am a general craft-a-holic... I spend the long winters here in the frozen tundra enjoying my hobbies, hanging out with my friends and watching old movies. I love to travel, Disney World, South Africa, and Pensacola Beach are three of my favorite places that I have been.
My name is Debbie De Louise. I’m a retired reference librarian from a public library on Long Island and the award-winning author of the Cobble Cove and Buttercup Bend cozy mystery series. I've also published standalone novels of various genres, a non-fiction cat book, and a collection of cat poems.
My first novel, a paranormal romance, CLOUDY RAINBOW, was written after my beloved cat, Floppy, died from diabetic and liver complications. The book was dedicated to him, and he is featured as a character in it. Previously self-published, it was reprinted by my publisher with fresh edits, a new cover, and a few updates.
My second novel, the first book of the Cobble Cove mystery series, A STONE'S THROW, is the story of a widowed librarian who visits her husband's hometown and finds a new love with the town's newspaper publisher but also discovers some alarming truths about her husband's death and its connection to the publisher and his family. The other books in my Cobble Cove series include BETWEEN A ROCK AND A HARD PLACE, WRITTEN IN STONE, LOVE ON THE ROCKS, AND NO GRAVESTONE UNTURNED.
The Cobble Cove Stories, previously published as eBooks, include SNEAKY'S CHRISTMAS MYSTERY (winner of the Cat Writers' Association's Muse Medallion award), SNEAKY'S SUMMER MYSTERY, and KITTYKAI'S EASTER MYSTERY, are now included in a print edition along with a new story. The collection is called SNEAKY'S SUPERNATURAL MYSTERY AND OTHER COBBLE COVE STORIES.
My second cozy mystery series, The Buttercup Bend cozy mysteries, feature Cathy Carter who co-owns a pet rescue and animal cemetery in the small town of Buttercup Bend in the Catskills. In addition to her pet business, Cathy is also a photographer for the town’s newspaper, THE BUTTERCUP BUGLE, Her adventures include THE CASE OF THE CAT CRAZY LADY, THE CASE OF THE PARROT LOVING PROFESSOR, THE CASE OF THE LLAMA RAISING LIBRARIAN, THE CASE OF THE WHALE WATCHING WEDDING PLANNER and THE CASE OF THE REPTILE RESCUING RECEPTIONIST..

MEOWS AND PURRS is my collection of cat poetry based on my current and past cats. It includes photos and notes about what inspired me to write the poems. My latest book, A MIXED BAG OF CAT TAILS, is a multi-genre collection featuring short stories that include cats.
