Kaarina: Rejected (Viking Guardians Book 2) Kindle Edition

4.1 out of 5 stars 29 ratings

Forced to flee from her father. Torn from the man she loves. Will Kaarina find happiness?

She’s never seen the ocean, neither has she ever met a Christian. But now Kaarina is living in a Christian village after being forced to flee from her father’s wrath. The people are kind and she finally begins to feel safe again.
But Kaarina has a secret phobia, one she doesn’t want to share with anyone until one day, her handsome neighbour, Landwulf discovers her hidden dread. He doesn’t shame her, instead helping her to face her fears, and Kaarina is drawn to his kindness and the simple faith of his people.
But their growing feelings for one another soon attract the attention of Landwulf’s parents, who are convinced that their son must find a wife from among their own people.
Will Kaarina and Landwulf find happiness together? Or will Landwulf be a dutiful son and choose a bride who pleases his parents?
This clean and sweet novella is set in the days of Norway’s King Haakon the Good, a time when Vikings left their homelands to raid and plunder; when Christianity was making tentative approaches and kings fought for the right to rule. It is Book 2 in the Viking Guardians series. This series is best enjoyed in order.

Kaitlynn Clarkson enjoys writing clean, faith-friendly romance stories. She writes in contemporary and historical genres because she can’t decide which one she likes best. These days, Kaitlynn lives on a farm with her husband, two teenagers, and a herd of cows. She loves to play the piano and trombone in her spare time and is certain there will never be enough time to read all the books she wants to.

I enjoyed how book 2 in the series continues the storyline of Eira & Kaarina Kaarina so deserves love after the way her own father abused and looked upon her as property than a beautiful daughter to love and cherished. Also how Kaarina found that God is love and wants the best for her. My heart broke at the destruction of the village and the heartless attack of one of their own.
