3.6 out of 5 stars 67 ratings

Love, Life & Dreams is a collection of five short stories. Each story is unique and is ideal for enjoying whilst on holiday or for escapism.

'Doctor's Orders'

What do you do when you were planning a family with your husband, only to learn that he has been busy making a family with somebody else? Emma is in a bad place but someone is ready to swoop in and rescue her from herself. Just what the Doctor ordered.

'Julie'

Tom meets Julie at work and quickly realises that she’s the woman he previously had a fling with. But surely everything will be okay if it’s just one run-in? It’s not as if Julie is going to pop up everywhere he looks – at his daughter’s school, at his wife’s tennis club… or is she?

'Live the Dream'

Louis and Emma are happily married and travelling the world, ticking off the landmarks, enjoying every minute with each other. A reminder that it’s important to make the most of the time you have together…

'Off the Record'

James is a DJ and a bit of a scoundrel. He only thinks of himself and can be rude about the women he’s been involved with. But he’s about to learn a big lesson when he accidentally leaves the radio microphone on and proceeds to talk badly about his latest fling…

'Suite 200'

Ania has recently moved to the UK for a chance at a better life. She’s working hard in a hotel and is down on her luck. When a member of royalty arrives at the hotel, Ania gets to see first-hand that the grass isn’t always greener on the other side.

What a lovely collection of short stories.

I enjoyed reading every single one of these delightful snippets into peoples lives. I have a particular fondness for Live the Dream and Doctors Orders. These are definitely stories to read when relaxing by the pool or on the beach. Would make a great holiday read or to be snatched in moments of free time.

I particularly enjoyed the relationship between Louis and Emma and found it incredibly moving. I thought that the stories would all be really light-heated given the title and the cover but they were all very different, sad, poignant and touching in places, fun and humorous in others. This was an unexpected surprise and it made me think about the stories long after reading them. There was depth to the characters and conseqences to their actions so you could really invest in the stories. I will look forward to reading more short stories from this author.

    3.5 stars...

This is an odd collection of quick reads. Some with cliffhangers or space for you to make up your own ending. The stories do not have the sane characters, though a few have the same name. They stories also do not share a similar theme. Though you can easily read 1-2 during your lunch break. And now a brief about the stories...

First we have a recovering patient, second we have a cheating husband, third up is an imaginative could, fourth is a womanizing DJ, and fifth is a stuffing hotel room service staff member.

Favorite passage: “I think we’d better go, this isn’t really our cup of tea.”“Or glass of wine,” Emma giggled.

I do not read a lot of short stories, simply because I love diving into novels and being swept away from reality for awhile! However, I enjoyed this collection of stories a great deal. Typically when I read short stories, I find myself somewhat frustrated because of the desire to know more. What happens next? Will things work out? After thinking about it, I realize the talent and quality of writing in this collection of stories are what grew my desire to know more. Regardless of the length of the story, characters, or topic – I found myself invested in the characters and situations.

This collection is full of characters and situations that are unique but relatable and includes several unexpected surprises. Whether you enjoy reading about romance, karma, lives unfulfilled, or lessons in life I think all readers will enjoy Love, Life, & Dreams.

I received this book from the author and am voluntarily reviewing it. These stories were fun, little reads. Some are better than others. I liked "Live the Dream" best of all and its bittersweet twist. One of them is a bit creepy, but most of them are chick lit fun. Short stories are great for when you don't have a lot of time, but still want to read. These are really short and easy to read. They keep your interest as well.

Well written very short stories that a nice for a break. They can be read very quick and are only very few pages each. The storylines are nice and the plots are great. Characters well described and likeable most of them. Very strong females that knows what they want and how to get it.
Absolutely recommendable for short break reads.
