About the author

New York Times Bestselling author Jocelynn Drake loves a good story, whether she is reading it or writing one of her own. Over the years, her stories have allowed her to explore space, talk to dragons, dodge bullets with assassins, hang with vampires, and fall in love again and again.
This former Kentucky girl has moved up, down, and across the U.S. with her husband. Recently, they’ve settled near the Rockies.
When she is not hammering away at her keyboard or curled up with a book, she can be found walking her dog Ace, or playing video games. She loves Bruce Wayne, Ezio Auditore, travel, tattoos, explosions, and fast cars.
She is the author of the urban fantasy series: The Dark Days series and the Asylum Tales. She has recently completed a gay romantic suspense series called The Exit Strategy about two assassins falling in love and trying to create a life together, as well as a MM paranormal romance series featuring a family of vampires.
She has co-authored with Rinda Elliot the following series: Unbreakable Bonds, Ward Security, Pineapple Grove, and the Weavers Circle. She has also co-authored with AJ Sherwood the Scales 'N Spells dragon series. She can be found at JocelynnDrake.com.

- Reviewed in the United States on April 19, 2019I guess finding a way to be together, one would have to leave the other, to hunt down and eliminate the problem. That's what Gabriel is doing, keeping Justin save and out of the way while he eliminate the problem. It's the only way that they could have a life together. I'm ready for the next book, can't wait.

- Reviewed in the United States on April 23, 2019As always, reading from these ladies is a delight. Another amazing, sexy, and action filled shortie, it’s worth it. Specially because the anticipation for the next book in this series just went sky high. Love my boys.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 23, 2019Wow. I love the sexy assassins and their love for one another. Gabriel is trying so hard to clean up his past in order to have a life with Justin. Great love story.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 10, 2019I liked that this one wasn't bogged down with unnecessary information. It was hot, it was fun, and it whetted the appetite for the next book. I don't think this one is super important to have read before book two, but if you are enjoying Gabriel and Justin together then I think it's worth a look.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 5, 2019I am realky enjoying learning about Justin and Gabrielle and watching the two of them fall in love. I am looking forward to reading the next book and seeing what happens next
- Reviewed in the United States on May 23, 2019Cute stop over in-between books. I'm looking forward to reading more about these 2 MC's. First I need to reread the first book to get ready for book 2.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 8, 2019This was kind of a throwaway teaser for the next book. There was really nothing done here that couldn’t have been left out or thrown in the next one. That said, it was well-written. I’m glad it was on KU and I didn’t pay for it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable
This was an enjoyable short story giving us an insight into the deepening relationship between Justin and Gabriel. Looking forward to reading the next book. Just have to say that the editing in this book was excellent, the first book in the series irritated me so much because of all the typos!

4.0 out of 5 stars Worth the read
This was a fun read! Despite the darker undertones associated with their jobs and someone hunting Gabriel, I enjoyed reading about Justin's "transatlantic booty call". His happiness at seeing Gabriel was infectious and I couldn't help but be happy for them.
I look forward to the next book in the series which I have no doubt is going to be much darker and more dangerous as Gabriel continues to clean house so they can have their HEA.
Also for noting - none of the editing mistakes that plagued book 1 were to be found in this novella, so hopefully that bodes well for book 2.
Worth the read if you're continuing the series.
