- Reviewed in the United States on April 12, 2018This is one nifty, handy dandy guide for anyone who wants to write a novel. From genre selection, plotting a story and developing characters, to getting the words on paper finding inspiration and getting unstuck, this book will take you through it all. If that isn’t enough, the author includes access to printable worksheets, as well as daily communications via email for the first 28 days. If you’ve wanted to write a work of fiction but have no idea where to start or how to get organized, this is the book for you. It will take you through the process step by step to finally give life to that story idea you have. The book alone is worth the price, but the additional worksheets and support from the author are invaluable.
*I reviewed an advance copy of this book freely and voluntarily, having made no commitment to provide a review and receiving no compensation of any kind from any source for this review.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 6, 2018While I appreciate the warm, supportive spirit in which this book is written, the title is somewhat misleading. You won't write a novel in 30 days with this book. You will instead spend 28 days *planning for* a novel that you can then write in a month. Also, note thaa this book is designed for folks who are complete beginners and who may be fearful and lacking in self-confidence with regard to all aspects of the writing process. And I think that's great! However, if you have any sort of foundation in creative writing -- even a very minimal one -- I don't think this is the book for you.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 14, 2018This book is great for aspiring authors and those already published. It is extremely motivational to keep you going when you feel like you’re stuck. I really like how this book breaks it down into manageable tasks and sets you up for success. Also there is bonus material you can download and print out along with emails you can sign up for that will be sent everyday to help you on your way to writing that novel in a month. While repetitive at times it is repetitive for a good reason and it can help a nasty habit that can hinder your word output. While not every author and writer wants to write a book in a month it does help you find your creative process and if you find that writing a book a month doesn’t fit your process it can be adapted to fit you. Plus there are journal prompts, which I absolutely love! Overall I would definitely recommend this book to writers and those who don’t know where to start but want to write.

This book is a great step-by Step guide to writing your own novel. It’s a quick read, although, you need to set aside time to work on the writing exercises. It’s a good read before you start NaNoWriMo explaining how to plan your book and prepare the time. There is a lot of encouragement to get writing right away, many prompts as well as a list of one hundred story ideas. There are also links to worksheets to help you along with your writing.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 30, 2018This was a really great read and a fantastic start for anyone wanting to write their first book. The instructions are practical, the advice succinct and the read is easy. Although I was preparing to write a non-fiction book instead of a fiction book, I found the majority of the information and guidance still relevant. I can see that the author put in a great deal of effort and thought to the layout of this book. A definite recommendation for aspiring authors.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 22, 2018If you are contemplating on writing a book, stories, poems, or anything else you definitely need to read this book. It’s a great guide from start to finish on helping become a writer. It helps you overcome your own negative self and it has great activities for you to do to help you get started. It’s definitely chalked full of advice.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love it!
I read this book to help me prepare for NaNoWriMo last year and it was so helpful! It has really great tips for organizing, links for print off material, and it's just a really great read. It really got me excited to start writing!

5.0 out of 5 stars hope I won't feel like I'm back at school
When you open a 'How to .... ' book you hope and assume you will learn something but you, or I, hope I won't feel like I'm back at school. Megg writes from the heart, sharing her real life experiences to illustrate how she devised her patterns of time management which led to these tips. I felt like Megg was chatting to me in the room; we were giggling together about life and how it can get in the way of the real work - writing our novels!!! I feel so enthusiastic now that I've read it and set my journal up, and printed out the sheets which I intend to follow. Thank you so much Megg .. your encouragement is infectious :D

5.0 out of 5 stars I wish I had this book at the beginning of my journey...
I wish I had this book at the beginning of my journey it would have certainly been beneficial for a structure and with a clear direction.
It was easy to read and clear which you need as a new writer. It also is jam packed with resources which I personally need to download, it’s the first book I’ve come across in this style.
I have to say that I really enjoyed reading this book and found that it has given me some practical go to methods which I’m excited to implement into my work and give them a go.
Thank you again Megg.
