    Then I took 2 weeks off, and did another 2 weeks, losing another 2 lbs.

    The reason I changed my rating to 5 stars is that during Thanksgiving and Christmas, I ate a lot, but did not gain more than a lb, which to me, was amazing.

    I have stopped the diet for 2 months now and have not gained the weight back, which totally shocked me.

    No, it's not super easy (bec you do get bored drinking just shakes for a month), but it's doable.
    I can't believe it actually does what it promises to do--change your metabolism.

    If you look at the research, everyone assumes your "set point" weight is set, and cannot be changed, or they tell you to do crap like lift weights and eat protein.

    When I was following traditional advice I was actually gaining weight (turns out whey protein makes you gain weight, as he says in the book)

    the Cons:
    In the book, he says to eat 20 grams of protein (the servings of his shakes), 3 times a day, but people of different weights need more protein. Then, somewhere else in the book, he says a 140 lb woman should eat 90 grams of protein. He should have indicated a more exact amount based on weight from the beginning. I began feeling really "hangry" after a week and realized that I was not getting enough protein. This issue was resolved after I upped my protein and started taking amino 23 supplement from Purium, which helped with hunger.

    I don't know what "expense" people are complaining about. A month's supply of what you need is only $120 from his website.

    As far as weight loss, I did lose 4 lbs by the end of the month (and I kind of cheated the last week), but I think that's a good amount. I went off of it for 2 weeks, as he suggests, now I will try to do another month to try to lose more, so I do think the diet works.

    This was a great program for me. I am 67 years old, about 20 pounds overweight and having a hard time losing. I wondered if my liver was involved and my blood test numbers (especially ALT) were over what he said was the range for fatty liver (41) but did not show up outside the normal range from the lab. So I thought that I must have fatty liver. I was able to do the program for 26 days. I live in Malaysia and didn't think I could source locally the pea protein and resistant starch but was able to get organic pea protein imported from Australia and organic potato starch imported from Finland. These both worked for me. I lost 8 pounds and 3 inches off my waist. I followed the program carefully but did not always use the recipes for dinner but I did always use the shake recipes. I did the exercise just as he said and I slept well. Some of the shakes were better than others so I repeated the ones I liked. I was tired many days and didn't experience the boost of energy but I have had problems detoxing mercury and with candida so that may account for the fatigue. I could eat vegetables as much as I wanted but they didn't completely satisfy if I was hungry. My blood sugar was 90 at the beginning and still 90 at the end of the program. After finishing I went to Sri Lanka for 2 1/2 weeks and lost control mostly of my diet as I was in a school eating the food they gave us with some supplementation on the side. I couldn't eat raw veggies for the whole time due to concerns with parasites. But now I'm back in Malaysia for a few days and have only regained 1 1/2 pounds after 3 weeks and my "waist loss" of 3 inches has remained. I haven't gained any inches back. All in all, I am very happy with the program and plan to do it again in a few months to improve my liver more and then have blood tests.

    Okay, I’m writing this as someone who has only been on the diet for a week, so let me give a run-down of immediate thoughts and events. First, we’re both in our 60’s, which is important to point out because that automatically makes it harder to lose weight than someone who has not gone through menopause or the aging process yet.
    Days 1-3, we both drank the Reset shake powder mix for breakfast and lunch, and after we ate dinner, we had gas and bloating like we’ve never had before! Leaving the house would have been too embarrassing so we just stayed in and hoped it would resolve. And it did. By day 4, neither of us had any issues. So there is an adjustment time. Hubby said the pre-mixed Reset shake powder tastes like cookie dough. Unlike many who review, we have not made the shake recipes in the book and probably won’t. Rather, we just went for convenience and bought the Reset shake powder, in both vanilla and chocolate, which it sounds like is the way to go based on things others have said about the recipes in the book. We do the vanilla in the morning and sometimes add a few frozen organic strawberries to them. At lunch, we do the chocolate and add 1/2 of a green banana.
    As for the book itself, it’s okay. It really does need more detail added, and I wish the author had addressed things such as hard-boiled eggs. Nowhere are eggs ever mentioned, yet they are high in protein and low in calories. It just feels like more could have been added to fill it out. Especially for people who were raised on a very different mindset regarding foods you should or shouldn’t eat when on a diet.
    The book challenges things we’ve always heard about dieting, such as “potatoes are your enemy”. Dr. Christiansen says no, they are one of the best for resistant starch. But I didn’t realize they needed to be eaten cold till a coworker pointed that out to me. So, more explanation for some things would have been appreciated, but overall, my husband has already lost an inch in his waist in the 7 days. I’ve lost nothing so far, but feel tired and weak. So I’m not sure we can do a full 28 days but we’re committed to at least 14. If my waist measurement still doesn’t budge at that point, that will be it for me. But I will still take the principles used in the book and apply them to my everyday diet. If nothing else, it’s breaking me of my sugar cravings and junk food snacking. That in itself is a win. Also, I doubt I’ll go back to drinking coffee. I don’t miss it at all.

    Generally I am really fit person but over the last year I felt extremely tired and I put on some weight.
