I liked the characters and I like the storyline. Could do with more dino action, but not a bad series. The first book set the stage and made me anticipate the next one...and I was not disappointed. Looking forward to the 3rd book due out in Nov. The lack of profanity is refreshing. Would give it 6 stars if I could. Definitely recommend this series. Read the first book so you won't jump into the middles of the story or you won't know who Bones is and his relationship to Rogue, or lack of.

I am enjoying this series, but 2 was actually much better than book one for me.
I like the character of rogue, for a female she’s not too stupid.
I like the character of Seth, I hope we’ll hear more about his history and background .
I liked all the characters in the Rebel Faction.
And of course Dino action is always exciting .

As I have said in my previous reviews of Baileigh's books, she is my favorite post apocalypse author. I wasn't so sure that I would like the Primordial Earth series, I mean dinosaurs? Come on. But, in her usual inimitable style, Baileigh weaves a compelling story of strong women battling evil forces. Even as I was doubting the premise of dinosaurs and an apocalypse, I was anticipating what would happen next, and found it difficult to put the book down. Another masterful series by Ms Higgins.

Less than 200 pages. But, continued story line and character development is quick. Writing style has this story and action moving at a good pace which keeps you entertained, interested and wanting to see what happens after each quick chapter. Nicely done. No wasted words spent on pages and pages of peripheral wasted descriptions to try and impress. Readers want to be taken away and entertained with good writing, story line and characters. This little gem of a series continues to do a nice job at that.

Are separate factions a condition of human society? Given the chance to start building a new society within a terribly hostile environment would we pull together to survive, helping each other? Or would the powerful few seek only their own safety and comfort?

The two separate groups of people who survived the time shift in Portland, have developed two completely different societies. Prime, the walled city, sees most of its inhabitants existing in debasing poverty while the few at the top live in luxury. Rogue was exiled when she stole an egg after days without food.

Rogue found her way to the other compound of people in the erstwhile zoo. This group survives well through the cooperation of its people. Life may not be easy but it is definitely filled with more abundance for everyone.

Unfortunately, Rogue was kidnapped and taken back to Prime. Will she be able to win her freedom to live as she chooses? Or will Prime make her pay the ultimate price?

The premise is good... there's a lot of potential for original plot lines that demonstrate how to survive under these unusual circumstances . But the emotional maturity of the vast majority of the characters seemed to have topped out at about age 15 -- and all due respect, that theme is over-explored in way too many books. I think more time could be spent developing story, and a lot less on petty insecurities and jealousy. Dwelling on adolescent meanness is way down the list of priorities when trying not to become dinosaur food.

I couldn't put this book down. I had to know how Rogue and her mother where doing. Also had to see what Moran was up to and how things were going in Prime. I love the mix of people, love and of course the dangers of living with the dinosaurs. I can't wait to read book three and see what happens next. A must read.

Absolutely brilliant 2nd book of the series, won't give spoilers as some have done in the reviews, but it's a great read, on book 3 now and I hope there are plenty more books in the series to come!

So far so good. Still, the author could have done more research for that story. If there was a giant EMP, how do the solar panels and the solar gadgets could work? But, despite that, a good story, anyway.
