- Reviewed in the United States on March 7, 2023What a fabulous beginning to the Shaftdale Daddies series! Sweet as the lollipops he loves, Owen, and sexy electrician, Jonny, are perfect for each other!
Owen is running out of excuses to call Jonny into the arcade to repair electrical issues and has resorted to “assisting” the machines in breaking down. Owen is resourceful and been crushing on Jonny for a long time.
Jonny always “happens” to bring the cutie at the arcade a lollipop or several when he’s called, but can he work up the nerve to ask the boy out for a date? Jonny doesn’t date, but wants to now with Owen. What if Owen says no? Or worse, what if he says yes!?
Watching Jonny get help “planning” dates and Owen trying to respect Jonny’s wish to “go slow” is absolutely delicious for readers. Sweet, sexy, funny, endearing and chocked full of interesting characters, Shaftdale Daddies is going to be amazing!

- Reviewed in the United States on June 17, 2023Owen is a small town gay cutie who has a big crush on the electrician, Jonny. Jonny gets called frequently to the Arcade by Owen to repair electrical stuff and Jonny keeps him supplied with red lollipops. The two finally make a connection and start on the journey to love. The story is really cute and practically angst free, but the grammatical errors knock the story's goodness down a notch.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 3, 2023This was not for me. I loved the idea of the story and what happened during the story, but the writing in this one wasn't for me.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 7, 2023Everyone spotted the crushing except the two crushing. Lots of hot sex but the guys need to work on their Daddy/little dynamics. All that said, I couldn't put it down.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 2, 2023The Small Town Sweetie is the first book in the Shaftdale series by Joe Satoria. It's the story of Jonny and Owen. I really liked their story. It was sweet, sexy, full of feels and very well written.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 24, 2023I love this story. Owen works at the arcade and loves everything about it. Especially the lollipops and the electrician who brings them. Will Jonny have the courage to ask Owen out and find love together?

3.0 out of 5 stars 3.5 Stars A Good Daddy and Little Story
The Small Town Sweetie is an okay Daddy and Little romance to read by the author.
Owen was 22 years old and was a worker at an arcade and loved his 🍭sweets. He dreamed of a Daddy to care for him, but there aren't many Daddies in a small town.
Owen was crushing the town's electrician, Jonny, 32 years old, whom they called in whenever they had a problem with the games machines.
I had to laugh, and poor Owen thought Jonny was straight. However, he had a surprise installed for him.
Owen and Jonny have an awkward first date to get to know each other outside the arcade shop. Jonny said they'd take things slowly, but I need to find out whose definition of slow is for either of them in the fast-paced story. Family and friends play a role in this, and the two MCs sometimes struggle. Especially when "the said friends" say there living vicariously through them (sorry, that in books is not my favourite written in books, but that's just me)
Dramas in the arcade cause Owen to melt down along with the others as they find little uninvited 🐀visitors. Sexy scenes are included between them with a HEA ending. This book was a good story that I wanted to love; unfortunately, I couldn't get there with this one.
