Resolution: The secrets between Hitler and his English girl could bring modern Europe to its knees. The race is on to discover the truth Kindle Edition

4.6 out of 5 stars 23 ratings

Written during a background of the growth in populism and the far right, this roller-coaster of a novel will intrigue lovers of Robert Harris, Ken Follett and Dan Brown.

In 1938, young English socialite Liberty Barnham heads to Munich to attend finishing school. Through the pages of her private diary she records her entrance into German high-society. Liberty's appealing mix of naivety and spirit sees her caught up in a whirl of social events, weekend retreats and political rallies, becoming close to Hitler and his inner circle.

Through her eyes we see how Hitler becomes increasingly powerful and how his charisma enabled him to lead his nation to war.

So who is the woman, broken of spirit, mourning the loss of a child, and feeling utterly betrayed by her lover?

In present day London, ex-journalist Tom McCartney acts as political advisor to ambitious Foreign Secretary Charlie Pembroke, who would do anything to become Prime Minister - including making a pact with the right-wing German Chancellor.

Amid a toxic political environment of distrust, misinformation, and back-stabbing, McCartney begins to unwrap a mystery. His investigations take him to Berlin and Paris, and into a battle against time to break the code that unlocks the past. Can he discover how the Foreign Secretary is connected to the long-dead Liberty before it is too late?

An excellent novel to rival Phillip Kerr , Charles Cummings , Mick Heron and Stella Rimington - Spanning pre-war 30s to the 60s Adam has managed to capture the excitement , apprehension and unpredictability of pre -war Germany and the Machiavellian British political plotting of the 60s - His characters stay with you and which is always a good sign of an excellent author you find yourself trying to predict which way the plot is going - It is a really hard book to put down due to the excellent research and attention to detail - This novel would make an brilliant TV drama or film do hope someone picks it up . Looking forward to Adam Zerneys next one

5.0 out of 5 stars Cracking read ....

Firstly a confession, I know Adam well and bought the book more out of curiosity than anything else. However once I was able to overcome the fact I was reading a novel by someone I knew I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Well written, brilliantly researched and with a decent plot line. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good read. I look forward to his next effort which I hope will be sooner rather than later.

I was impressed by the way in which Adam caught my imagination so quickly. His attention to detail and obvious research into the different areas and people at this time made it seem so real. I had to keep reminding myself that it was fiction. I hope Adam continues to write more!

Reminiscent of Fatherland and other novels which raise the “what if” question around history’s pivotal moments, the story weaves its way beautifully between a well researched wartime Munich and present day London. As with every good novel, you’re left wondering what happens to the characters beyond the last chapter.
