- Reviewed in the United States on September 8, 2014oh crap i was married to a "Luke," for like 5 minutes a thousand years ago... I too, hid my chocolates in boxes all over the house, Unfortunately he would find them and eat them!! all the while telling me i had to diet because i was too fat...so unfair! Enough of that!
So reading this book was ridiculously hilariously funny. At some points i laughed so hard i could hardly breathe.. funny how this book imitates real life. I just wish the story continued at least three chapters more... i would really like to know what the "epilogue" would be with Tom.... never had a Tom... perhaps a sequel?. Sigh... still, so worth reading.. Your heart and innards and disposition with get the greatest massage and cheerup from laughing so much.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 10, 2015It was very light read. Loved the characters Flo and Tom. After half the book, there were a few unnecessary chapters which were induced just to increase the page/chapter count and utterly boring - After reading through a couple of boring chapters I did skip one or two and I did not miss much (anything at all!) when I continued further.
Nevertheless, I loved the book.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 7, 2014Loved this book :) The pranks were awesome and had me smiling the entire time. The chemistry between Tom and Flo was dreamy. Tom was breathtaking, and Flo was so cute and funny. Really an amazing read. Would love to see this play out on the big screen. Would recommend this to all. It was also nice for a change to see a female MC who wasn't "perfect." She loved chocolate, hated working out and wasn't a model. Wish I could give more than five stars :)
- Reviewed in the United States on October 23, 2015Didn't appreciate the harsh language. I felt the book would have been as good or better without the vulgar language
- Reviewed in the United States on November 10, 2014Superb!!! I couldn't put the book down. Very warm, pleasantly different and hilarious. I loved the characters, the plot, the mix ups, the love - everything about this book was great. Lynda Renham is definitely one of my fav authors now.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 29, 2015It's a really funny story, considering so many accidents happen whenever Flora is around. The pairing is predictable, but you'd never guess how these two dance around their "war".
Tom is a handsome and delectable fellow, although it seems like the attraction is too mutual too fast. It's written in Flora's and Tim's first-person POV, but it's like a flash of lightning how they find each other immediately delish.
It's a great and entertaining read, although their back-and-forth pranks felt a bit dragged out.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 24, 2014I so enjoyed Rory's Proposal; the first I've ready from Lynda Renham. I loved reading the antics of hairdresser Flora, her "up his own" fiancee, and of course Tom Rory the billionaire. I love Renham's humorous writing style, giving life to hilarious situations Flora finds herself in on her quest to propose to her fiancee. But is he the one? Not so sure!!
- Reviewed in the United States on July 2, 2015I never laughed out loud so much with a book! The K-Y jelly scene in the bedroom is hilarious!!! 😀😀 This is an entertaining and predictable story but a bit wordy and repetitious.... "Don't think about it, don't think about it but how can I not think about it?" I love it and so will you. Happy reading.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hilarious and so easy to read
This review was supposed to be up yesterday, I’m afraid, but there’s times when you get so into a book that instead of firing on to the finish line to see what happens, you simply want to savour it. THIS is one such book. I’ll get the cons out quickly so that I can move onto the gushing bit. There was (whispers) bad language in it, just an ickle bit, and a few slightly (whispers again) rude bits, but they were appropriately placed and so didn’t make me cringe or anything but if you don’t like that sort of thing (I’ve had emails reminding me to put this in my reviews) then you’ve been forewarned. As well as this, there were times when I was slightly editing in my head as I read. It wasn’t that it was badly edited, there was just slight repetition in places and I felt that some of the characters could have been toned down, just a little bit. This was only with the ‘baddy characters.’
Okay (rolls up sleeves). Now for the fun bit. I loved this book. I really, really loved it. There was something homely about it, I don’t mean the descriptive, there’s a fire lighting and cows in the meadow sort of thing, I mean in the ‘it could happen to anybody’ way (I’m sure I’ve said all this before and I apologise if I have!). The characters in general were brilliantly done and brought with them some great colour and comedy. The comedy was right up my street and the ‘battle’ was fantastic, with some great ‘smile out loud’ moments and times I became properly excited for what was to come. Flora was a brilliant character, no matter how bad things were for her she made you smile as she did with all around her. Tom was perfect, I couldn’t work him out and that’s what led to the mystery that made this a page turner for me. The romance was exquisite, Flora’s eating habits brilliant, her team for the fight and their meetings both hilariously done and perfect and the climax wonderful. All in all one I owuld definitely recommend for people to take a look at in particular for chick lit month. Highly recommended.

4.0 out of 5 stars He says things like ‘fancy a cuddle
This romantic comedy is about a woman named Flora Robson, born in Islington who owns a little hairdressing salon. She is twenty-nine years old going on thirty and has a boyfriend named Luke; he’s a solicitor. Luke considers a woman’s vagina a mystery. Even during sex he has no idea what to do with it apart from the obvious, and even then he is so quick that even if Flora wanted to plan a shopping list, there would be no time for it and Luke’s pyjamas wearing doesn't exactly turn her on either.
He says things like ‘fancy a cuddle?’ when what he really means is ‘fancy sex?’ Not to mention his bedside ritual of cutting his toenails. She often questions why he likes her. Why he'd be interested in a ‘simple hairdresser like her.’
Because he is so quick during sex, K-Y Jelly comes in handy (no pun intended) and on one occasion Luke screamed out and said; ‘Jesus, for the love of God, what the hell did you put on my ****? It’s sodding freezing.’ As she fumbles for her glasses and grabs the tube she winces and wonders how on earth she’s going to tell him that she’s Biofreezed his ****?
Her mother wants grandchildren, more importantly, so does she, and she feels that at the rate she’s going, she'll probably run out of time and die a spinster.
Then one day Flora reverses into the gorgeous blue-eyed Tom Rory’s Audi, not aware that he is a multimillionaire. She soon learns that his company is looking at redeveloping the block in which her hairdressing salon is and through his representatives, seeks to buy her out. By the time Flora had reversed into him and they'd gotten introduced, the offers to the business owners on the block had already proceeded.
Flora has no idea that Tom is the multimillionaire behind the redevelopment plan.
Read more about Flora’s journey of discovery, love, hot chocolate and marshmallows, and the man who changes everything.
This book is a light read and it gave me a good laugh. Lynda's witty humour is evident in her writing.
