- Reviewed in the United States on October 12, 2014A heart warming collection of poetry which was beautifully and skillfully written.
The author has a unique style in her writings and her descriptions are so wonderful that even a gloomy heart remembers to smile. Indeed, when reading these poems one can begin to see life in a more attractive way. It really draws the reader in.
She shares her experience in life through captivating similes. She also gives her wise advice in a warm yet strong manner - you can sense the concern she has over us - and it does not dilute the reality of how cruel life can be.
Truly, anyone can relate to her poetry such as:
The young - especially when friendship is their main concern.
And the adult - especially when going through marriage.
Such an inspiring read! Once you start you shall struggle to put the book down.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 10, 2014"The death of a beautiful dream" is one of the best poetry books i have ever read. First of all its title inspired me to read this book and i thoroughly enjoyed it. Best thing i liked about it is that it covers beautiful relations and unpleasant realities of life. It gives hope and inspiration to me as i can relate to many poems. I want to read it again and again. I wish best of luck to its author and congratulate her for being such an inspiration to us. Really cant wait for another amazing book from her. I would definitely recommend this book to everyone.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 10, 2018I really enjoyed reading this. You can sense the pain and the hurt that the writer experienced but you can also see the growth and how much stronger they are because of the experiences that shaped them. This was very inspiring and a great reminder that it is okay to be vulnerable in your writing.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 20, 2020Saira blows it away with the raw realness of her truth. I am honored to have read such raw feelings being spilled out for the world to see.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 17, 2024'The Death of a Beautiful Dream' by Saira Anwar is a poetry collection filled with emotions and truths. I was invested in every step of the journey, made all the more impactful by knowing these poems were born from experience. Saira has created a powerful and important piece of art.
This book follows Saira through the excitement of a seemingly perfect love, the sting of bitter truths, the end of a painful marriage, to finding new strength and sharing her realizations with others. There are also poems celebrating family and friends; those who are always there for you. Every piece is written with care and intention, so her story can be helpful to the reader. This book has helped me as well, as I have learned from the wisdom she shares. This is a female-focused collection; I think this book would be especially great for young women and single women of any age. However, I do believe anyone could gain insight from her words. I highly recommend this collection.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 24, 2016Amazing poetry !!! What I liked about it was its format , I loved how it was easy to follow and you felt that you were part of her journey . You could feel what she was feeling which I think is a powerful trait of any poet and It just made me want to read more . I loved how I just wanted to know more and I really loved reading every bit of it ❤️ Very talented lady with a story conveyed beautifully , her phrases are bound to appear in your head time and time again. That it is so relatable in so many forms and reminds is of our own naive situations , heartbreaks and misfortunes and how she inspires us to overcome such downfalls by realising that one must love themselves and respect themselves and judge themselves through morals and values rather than those who we invest in so emotionally . Highly recommend ❤️❤️

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely a must read!
Saira Anwar’s The Death of a Beautiful Dream is a poetic revelation—raw, real, and radiantly human. From the very first page, her words hold your hand and guide you through the quiet corners of pain, love, betrayal, and healing, all while gently reminding you that your story is not over.
This isn’t just a poetry collection—it’s a mirror. Saira doesn’t write at you; she writes with you. Her verses feel like a shared whisper, like someone telling your story before you even knew how to put it into words. With themes of marriage, heartbreak, family, and self-reflection, every poem feels deeply personal and universally relatable.
What struck me most is how the book shifts from sorrow to strength. There is wisdom in the wounds she reveals, and by the final page, you’re left not with despair—but with purpose. Saira invites us to turn our own pain into power and pass that light forward: Go on, inspire others.
Her writing reminds me of Rumi’s soulful pull and Robert Frost’s quiet truth. And just like them, she has found a way to write poetry that begins in pain, blooms into reflection, and ends in wisdom.
This is a book I will return to again and again—especially in those moments when life feels too heavy to hold alone. Saira Anwar is a voice of truth, compassion, and fierce hope. I love her for that.

4.0 out of 5 stars A poetic story and a story full of poems
Saira, pens her experiences and emotions in a very personal and conversational way in this collection. Each poem comes from a story, situation and character. The most beautiful thing about this book is the evolution from pain towards the light and the inspiration at the end is mighty. A few poems really catch your mind and put you to read them again a few times. As she says, her mission with this book is to finally hope again and make it a dream that is beautiful for real. Great sweet read. Go for it. ✨

Thank you Saira for sharing your heart and soul in The Death of a Beautiful Dream. This collection is not only powerful and warrior like that it makes me realise as a reader and fellow poet I am not alone. This book is inspirational, brave and very relatable to me personally. I particularly loved the following poems: A Beautiful Lie, Breaking Free and the Reality of Love. Thank you so much for sharing your powerful words. 🙏
