I think you will love this novel and there is a very happy ending!
Lucy traveled miles to meet and marry her husband to be. From the time she got on the stagecoach-mishaps happened! Her driver had a heart attack and she had to walk in pouring rain miles to the town. With luck 2 men came on horseback and off they went. One of them was her husband to be--the other the sheriff. They were actually looking for her since the stagecoach was never late! Calamity after calamity kept happening--but Lucy-a stalwart Irish lass was not to be stopped. Sam, her soon to be husband (he was a doctor), were shot at-their barn set on fire and a host of other calamities. The Sheriff was trying to find the culprit--- This definitely is one strong female who knows what she want and is bound and determined to get it--did she listen--rarely! I think you will love this novel and there is a very happy ending!

Amelia Rose has become one of my favorite writers, and this book proves why. The characters are great, and the story hit the ground running at the start. I love the spunkyness of Lucy & Dr. Sam who is her perfect match. With all the strange & scary things happening, it right away peaked my interest in trying to figure out “who done it” 😊 Now I’m off to book 2 & thank you for these great stories to read while we are in shut down mode

At first, it did not seem that the Luck of the Irish followed Lucy to her new home, where she was to marry the town's doctor, Dr Sam Slater. As she and Sam face difficult situations and threats, they discover that most things can be solved with a little compromise. Sam has progressive views regarding the role of women in society, but he wasn't expecting Lucy's level of independence and feistiness. Realising that she may need to protect herself from those leveling threats against them, Sam reluctantly shows her some basic skills in self-defense, but when he isn't around to give her lessons, she draws on the help of their hands, thus arousing Sam's jealousy. As the threats escalate and become more aggressive, Sam has his hands full and even though he recognises his wife's need to become proficient in handling weapons, his inherent need to keep her safe drives him. The novel is fairly short but well written with a certain amount of suspense. There is also some wit but mostly this romance is about two people finding each other and learning to respect one another. Although I purchased this book some time back, I also received a copy for free from eBook Discovery. I voluntarily post this review. This is my honest review.

Very enjoyable reading, this mail-order-bride falls fairly fast for her new doctor husband and finds danger in the process. They find several situations they have to overcome and the doctor has to learn that she is a capable human being that just happens to be a woman. The doctor learns very fast that his Irish wife is a lot more than he expected and has to take her feelings and thoughts into consideration before he speaks.

Lucy McGee is on her way to meet her new husband to be. they had met in a mail order bride wanted. And had been talking for a while before she accepted his offer to join him in Spruce Valley. To think she would be the wife of a doctor and a rancher, jf she ever got there? Sam Slater.Doctor, rancher, waiting bridegroom was pacing at the stage stop impatient to see the women in person that he had talked to by mail. And getting worried. The stage was never later unless something happened so he turned to the sheriff Josh for help on his ride to check on her.
This starts the saga of Lucy and Sam and it continues in this mode for the whole story. Many twists and turns and lots of friends and adventures. Fun story, well written, humerous, keeps into timeline. Really liked

Lucy has moved from NY to be the mail-order bride of a small-town doctor in the Montana Territory. Even before she arrives, tragedy strikes when the driver of her stagecoach dies of heart failure. Then obviously someone wants the new couple dead or at least off their land. The story is fraught with dangers which take an emotional toll on the newlyweds.

This is a well written book with a good storyline and wonderful characters. In my opinion the story could have been developed more because it has the makings of an even better one.

What a way to meet your fiancee - looking bedraggled sitting in the rain, on your suitcase and missing a shoe. That's how Lucy meets her fiancee the good doctor Sam along with the Sheriff Josh. What was she to do? Sit on the side of the road with a deadman till someone came along? When Lucy meets Greta she likes the older widow right away. Then there's Jenny and her husband Mason, who she can tell love each other very much. So when she starts getting notes telling her to leave the day after she gets there she is completely confused. When she and Sam get married they hope the notes will stop and that everything will be okay. Only things seem to escalate! Sam is shot at, she is almost kidnapped, sheep are slaughtered and dumped on the porch so many things! What will they do? Will they leave? Will they fight? Only one way to find out, read this great story by Amelia Rose.

Lucy is feisty and then some. Her age is 18 but she acts and talks older. The doctor was an Army doc during the Civil War which tends to make him act first and think later. Lucy also, due to her life growing up, has had it up to here and then some (yes, I know I've used it again) and demands equal treatment. Fortunately for her, she married a man who agrees ... well, almost.

But someone wants Lucy gone. And the doctor dead. And if others near the doctor happen to wind up dead, that's okay too. But who? The doc is well liked. Lucy is too new to be disliked yet she's also a target. She doesn't know how to handle a gun when she gets west. You'll enjoy how she learns.

I chuckled a few times while reading this one.
Would like the author to work on timelines in her books. In this one she has Lucy putting on a dress...then a few lines later putting on petticoats, a blouse and a skirt. Obviously a rewrite caused this error. But it seems to be the type of error common to her writing. Other errors caught as well.

I do recommend. It's a fun read and one of Ms Rose's better mail order bride books. Rating is 4.5 stars.

A good read. A tale of a cowboy who buys himself a wife. A story of how two strangers who get married, make a home together and face men who want them off their land and out of their home because they want it from them. Also of the friendship between the Indians and the couple who give them their trust.
