ABOUT THE STOP A MURDER SERIES

This series works best with an internet connection, using a Kindle Fire or Kindle app to enter answers on the killer's website. An e-ink Kindle will work, but the interface will be smoother if used in conjunction with a computer or smart phone.

While each book in this series can be read and enjoyed on its own, the experience will be richer if read in order, and if the internet is used.

Joe also wrote the Stop A Murder mystery puzzle series, where you become the sleuth and solve brain teasers to try and catch a killer.

He also wrote the sci-fi trilogy, Timecaster, Timecaster Supersymmetry, and Timecaster Steampunk. Even if you don't think you like sci-fi, give them a try. They feature Joe's well-known characters from his other series, and are insane.

With Ann Voss Peterson he wrote the Codename: Chandler thrillers, including Flee, Spree, Three, Hit, Exposed, Naughty, Fix (with F. Paul Wilson), Rescue, and Free.

And, finally, he writes erotica under the pen name Melinda DuChamp, also with Ann Voss Peterson. Those books are probably too spicy for you, so only the brave and bold should seek them out.

Joe writes a lot. You should probably read everything.

    This has been the most awesome series of books, that I've ever read!!
    A lot of BS back and forth in emails.
    I have to admit, that I didn't do any of the puzzles, because the emails were so good, that I couldn't stop reading them!!
    The whole concept of the emails was AWESOME!!
    CAN NEVER NOT READ A J.A. KONRATH BOOK!!

    I wanted to try something new. I used to love the books (when I was a kid) that you choose the path you were on and this is similar in a way. You can make it a very tense experience by embracing the fact you are trying to stop a murder (panic room feel) or you can read and solve at your own pace. I did both because well, I work and sleep so I couldn't...but if these were valid emails and I was responsible for stopping a murder you can bet I'd be panicked. I did lose sleep because I couldn't stop thinking about some of the puzzles...they are tough and yet fun! So, I am happy that I was given this challenge and that I did indeed stop a murder. I look forward to more books like these from Mr. Konrath.

    This is the fifth of five books in the series. All of the books in the series are engaging. The interaction between the killer and the author is not great and sort of pointless, but I suppose without it there wouldn't be much to the book. There is a good variety of puzzles--each necessary to collect a "key" to solve the final puzzle in each book. There are clues/puzzles hidden in a variety of places within the text and website which forces the reader to never quite know what is important information (thats a good thing). Highly Recommended.
