Termination: A Techno-Thriller Where Quantum Science Meets Deadly Conspiracy (A Rossler Foundation Mystery Book 8) Kindle Edition

4.5 out of 5 stars 555 ratings

An unstoppable enemy. A world on the brink. The fight for survival begins.

With John Brideaux dead and his Supreme Council dismantled, the Rossler Foundation has stopped one of the greatest threats to global freedom. But as newly elected President Daniel Rossler takes office, the world is anything but safe.

The Russians have been watching, waiting for their moment to strike. They see Rossler’s inexperience as their opportunity for global domination. But an even greater danger is emerging from the shadows—one far deadlier than any political adversary.

For decades, remnants of the Eighth Cycle, calling themselves the Re’an, have been secretly engineering a race of superhumans with a single goal: absolute control. If their leader, Viktor, succeeds, the horrors of Brideaux’s regime will pale in comparison. With billions of lives at stake, the Rossler Foundation must confront an enemy unlike any they’ve faced before. But against an adversary with unparalleled power and technology, have they finally met their match?

Termination is the explosive sequel to The Rowen and the eighth installment in JC Ryan’s Rossler Foundation Mystery series, a gripping dystopian technothriller where ancient knowledge, modern warfare and global conspiracies collide in the ultimate battle for humanity’s future.

What readers are saying about the Rossler Foundation Series:

Fantastic series. I almost never download books in a series. No matter how good they are individually, they generally become boring after two or three volumes, leaving the choice of never having been tied up or forcing yourself to go further.

NOT SO WITH THIS SERIES. Each volume is better than the last and at this point I can't wait for more. BRAVO!

I read the current seven books back-to-back, to the detriment of sleep, yard work, etc.

Amazing! Rather than review just this one book, I'd like to comment on the whole series. The Rossler Foundation Mysteries series kept me interested all summer long. I didn't always have a lot of time to read, so whenever I could steal a few moments, I was glued to these books! Each book contained mostly the same characters, although new ones were added too.

So, by the last few books, I felt I really knew the carryover characters.

Oh the adventures in these books! Set in different places, there was just enough info that matched actual history and events, that they were close to believable. It was readily apparent that the author possessed a wealth of knowledge on several subjects, and he used it well to add details that really up my interest level!

It would be great if more books could be added to the series! It's easy to get hooked!

Best series EVER!!! Just finished the 7th book in this series after only starting the 1st book 3 days ago. I couldn't read them fast enough! But now I wish I'd read them much slower because I have to wait on the next one to be written and published. I am and have always been an avid reader, but nothing has satisfied me in the way this series has. It has everything that interests me in them. Ancient civilizations, scientific discoveries,. mystery, danger, technological wonders... You name it, these books have it! J C Ryan is a great story teller! I am planning on starting one of his other series while I wait on his next Rossler Foundation Mystery. I think I've just found my new favorite author!

This is the 8th book in this series, and the last page says, "The End". I'm hoping the author doesn't mean there will be no more books in the series, because the story is left on a cliffhanger. People from the 8th Cycle have been in a kind of suspended animation for thousands of years and are beginning to awake with the notion that they are going to take over the world (just like Brideaux and Hayden - who both got their comeuppance in previous books - but not nearly severe enough for their crimes). Daniel Rossler is now the President of the United States when stories start to emerge about people from the 8th Cycle and what they want to do. There are some, though, from that cycle who want to stop the others and are willing to help stop the destruction that will be caused. The good ones feel that our "cycle" is too inferior to do much of anything and are very surprised to find out just what we "primitives" have been able to do and are doing to stop the new invasion. Once again Raj and Roy and their cohorts have come up with some awesome tools that will help stop any take-overs or destruction. I would love to be able to see the Rabbit Hole caves where the Rosslers and their friends and family have escaped to and made a good home there. New threats are occurring what with volcanic eruptions along the Pacific coast from Alaska to nearly South America. The destruction is devastating. Seems when one event is contained, a new one pops up every time. This is the new one. I've become so hooked on this series that I just finished reading it for the 3rd time and most likely will read it again. I do so hope that this is not the end of this series. The author is very creative in writing his books and I want more of them to read. If it were possible, I would give the series 10 stars.

This series of books never fails to keep me up the day I get them. I just can't put them down and when I get to the end I'm heartbroken because I want the story to keep going on. This book did just that to me. It was everything I have come to expect. There were outstanding characters that we have come to know and love, and this time it centered on others rather than Daniel and Sarah. I found that to be exciting to see things from a different point of view.
If you are looking for a great new series to read, then this is it. I recommend starting with book one and moving through them. You won't be sorry.

I love the characters, action, and kinetic energy found in J. C. Ryan's books, and the Rossler Foundation Mysteries fulfill that need for action and intrigue. Attention to detail, plausability, sustained tempo- all contribute to a satisfying read. Readers empathize with those who struggle against insurmountable odds, and know that triumph or death, for the human race, are the only possibilities.

Global in scope, yet focused and as real as fiction can get, "Termination" the eighth work in Ryan's superb Rossler Foundation Mysteries is a fantastic read. Forget sleep or rest- finish the book! You won't rest until you do!

Five out of Five Stars! I heartily recommend J.C. Ryan and all of his writing!

When you put out one fire, two more break out and such seems the rule of thumb for the Rossiters and the world. Now even Mother Nature seems to be against them. One more time, into the fray, troops, but this time even the knowledge of the cycles and the Earthbound geniuses may not be enough to circumvent disaster.

I am reviewing from an ARC and will edit this review when I read the finished work. But so far I feel that the co-author did not do a good job of continuing the story. The awkwardness of the writing sets my teeth on edge. A good editing would have done a lot of good.
As a writer, editor, and writing teacher, I want to bite someone when I see this kind of thing.

So, I've pretty much read **almost** (LOL) non-stop through the series. Went to see if there were more than just the 8 books. I feel like I've been left hanging off a cliff with the ending of "Termination." I would so enjoy having this series continued!! It is a fantastic, action-packed series with well developed characters that draw you in.

This book would not make sense as a stand alone read so make sure you read the series in order. I have loved this series and others from JC Ryan but I found this book quite hard going in places and it didn't excite me quite as much as I had anticipated. Still a good book though and very well written.
