Kate Frost is the author of romantic escape novels including bestsellers The Greek Heart, The Baobab Beach Retreat and The Amsterdam Affair, plus One Greek Summer, An Italian Dream, An Island in the Sun, One Winter's Night and A Greek Island Escape published by award-winning Boldwood. They're uplifting, heartwarming stories of love, romance, hope, new beginnings and second chances featuring different characters in beautiful locations. She's also the author of character-driven women's fiction (The Butterfly Storm series) and Time Shifters, a middle grade time travel adventure trilogy. One Winter's Night has been shortlisted for the Romantic Novelists' Association's Romantic Novel of the Year Award 2024.

Kate is the Director of Storytale Festival, a book festival for children and teens she co-founded in Bristol in 2019. She has a MA in Creative Writing from Bath Spa University where she also taught lifewriting to Creative Writing undergraduates.

Kate has wanted to be an author ever since she wrote her first novel during the long months she spent off school following open heart surgery when she was seven. Having previously worked in a cinema, a bookshop, at NHS Direct and as a Supporting Artist in film and TV, she feels incredibly lucky to now spend her days writing and being immersed in books. Kate lives in the UK with her husband and son.

    Freya has managed to secure a job in a tropical island paradise in charge of a bookshop. Zander an ex boy band member owns the island and runs the resort. Freya befriends Drew who is a room mate and also Aaron a dive instructor. Life is certainly wonderful until she realises she left her book on the counter in the shop so strolls over late at night to get it and sees Aaron on the beach nearby who seems startled to see her then she sees flames coming from the bookshop and yells at Aaron to get help....

    I really enjoyed this beautiful, romantic story set in the Maldives. I could easily picture the Love Island bookshop with the beautiful ocean views. I liked that this book was not only romantic but that the author really went into depth with the characters of Freya and Zander. Their pasts were so interesting and emotional and made them who they were today.

    This is the first book I have read by Kate Frost and now I want to read the rest of the books in this series, especially since I was immediately pulled into the story. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
