About the authors
Timber Philips hails from a land filled with beauty and steeped in magic; the Pacific Northwest. She swears you can see fairies and goblins, magic and promise around every tree and in every drop of water and she shares that magic whenever she can. She loves welcoming everyone to her worlds of romance rooted in fable and fantasy.
I happen to be a Southern born and raised author who took the long way around to get there. Born in Texas, raised in the cloud of the oilfield, and then moved to Tennessee to pursue success in textiles and hosiery mills. This rearing in heavy industry, the sort that turns boys into men, shaped my perspectives on what is work, what is play, and oddly enough, what makes a good story.
A lifelong reader, long aspiring writer, a pen and paper gamer, an amateur baker, horse owner, and enthusiast of things that are weird and wonderful, I take these things and use them to craft weird tales, dark romance, and whatever else crossed my improvised desk and workspace.
I live in an insular small East TN town with my wife of 18 years, and my catalog of work can be found at KingPacalProse.com

Narrated by: Ivy Randall, Conan Roane
This fantastic time-travel romance novel grabbed my attention right from the start and captivated it the entire book. It is an original story with interesting storylines that alternate from the present time, 2016, to the past, 1731. Avery Barker is a modern day treasure hunter and her research shows that in 1731Pirates hid a treasure in the Carolinas, a treasure that is currently underwater. She received money to fund the expedition to retrieve the treasure and can only hope it pays off in the end. It turns out it pays off more that she could ever imagine. She has the journal of Captain Eamon Bligh, the pirate who led his crew, sailing from Porte Royale to the Carolinas. His ship carried some golden cargo, cargo that belonged to the Royal Majesty. Avery and her crew are camping out near the expedition site and she has vivid dreams of a pirate, hot, steamy dreams. Back in 1731, we see Eamon is having the same dreams. But the dreams become reality when Eamon time travels to 2016. I loved how everything played out in this book, it is a cleverly plotted story and the authors did an amazing job plotting the two time frames and bringing it all together. There is plenty of action is both time periods, and drama, twists and turns, thrilling and suspenseful moments, heartfelt emotions and some steamy romance. Thank you for the great, action packed adventure. Great job with the period dialogue too.
🎧📚🎧 And for the fabulous narration, Ivy Randall and Conan Roane are talented narrators and versatile voice artists. They did a great job bringing these characters to life, humanizing them, giving each their own distinct voice and personality. They had a complete understanding of the characters they portrayed, sounding believable in the roles they played and just as I pictured the characters to sound. Ivy Randall nailed it as Avery and Conan Roane’s Eamon was the perfect pirate. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and projected them into his performance. These entertaining storytellers are a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for this great listen.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 27, 2022This was beyond 5 stars! This audio felt authentic because of the fantastic talents of Conan Roane, and Ivy Randall. Conan voiced a Scottish accent for Captain Bligh of 1731 and Ivy brought Avery Barker of 2016 to life. This unusual romance is non-stop action and adventure.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 20, 2020Wow! I have read some of Timber Philips' books, but hadn't read her co-author. Can I just say that it was so freaking good. I wasn't sure what to expect, and when I started it was a little confused, since Timber usually writes contemporary scenes. But then I got into it and could not stop reading. I'd start a chapter and think I'd only read one, only to have to keep on going. The twists and turns it took were masterful, and I just absolutely loved it.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 29, 2020Time Travel - Love - Action & Adventure - this book has it all. This book was an amazing read. The authors came together and the two worlds just meld together. I loved Eaman and Avery's story and I don't believe I have read another book quite like this one. If you love tales of pirates and searching for ship wreckages and treasures, mixed in with a love story and twists you won't see coming, this book is for you.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 19, 2020Although this isn’t normally a Genre that I would read, I know and love one of the authors that wrote it. I found this book absolutely beautiful and truly astounding. Thank you two for an amazing story that I was able to fall in love with!
