This one starts with Rowan Ward who's at the club Warehouse owned by Lucas Vallois a good friend. Ward is still battling his depression over the death of his wife Mel. She died in a car accident when Boris Jagger was trying to kill them. Her death landed Rowe in a world of depression. He runs a very good security business but left it in capable hands while he tried to recover his life.
Lucas is a self made millionaire and an old Army buddy of Rowe's. Andrei Hadeon is his bodyguard employed by Ward Securities and is Lucas's lover. Dr Ashton Frost who everyone calls Snow, his lover Jude Torrez. Snow is also and old Army buddy or Rowe's and the three of them shared danger and good times. They are all trying to pull Rowe out of his crushing loss of Mel. Mel was beloved by all of them and is deeply missed.
The Warehouse party is in full swing when Rowe smells smoke. He and Andrei move out to get everyone out of the building. The fire wasn't an accident. It was set and it appears Jagger, a Jagger who survived prosecution by the Fed's is still out to get them. It all stemmed from the purchase of Ian, a young man, from Jagger and his stable of young men and boys. This is what put them on Jagger's radar but they thought they were clear of him when the paid money for Ian. An Ian who's a chef and owns his own restaurant and has a life with friends. Friends who protect him and love him.
On arrival home after one hectic night Rowe sees that his porch light is out. Rowe was in the Army and moved from that to be a Ranger. He's suspicious of everything. A light out wouldn't mean much to most people but to a trained Ranger it could mean trouble especially with the fire at the Warehouse. Ward draws his gun and gets ready. He see's someone smoking a cigarette and a voice that says" Don't shoot, Ward. I didn't travel sixteen hours from Berlin to be shot by your crazy ass." He immediately recognizes the voice of his best friend Noah Keegan. A fellow Ranger and a guy Rowe trusts with his life. A guy he shared danger and some happy times with.
So begins one damned fine read.
This one has Rowe, Noah, Snow, Lucas, Andrei, Jude, Gidget Row's computer hacker and right hand, Ian, his police officer who has disappeared, a Rowe trying to work through the loss of Mel a woman he loved with his whole heart, a Rowe who has knows for quite a while that he is bi, a Rowe who shared a night with Noah, a Rowe trying to come to terms with the loss of Mel and his feelings for Noah, a Noah who has loved Rowe since he first laid eyes on his but has juggled that love with friendship and shared danger, a series of fires set by an unknown person that Rowe got a brief look at, a Rowe who is shot at the scene of one of those fires, not a bad wound, attacks on Ward's clients, a Gidget who has a secret, a Noah who begins to suspect her, a missing son, a fire at Mel and Rowe's home, a fire that destroys everything Rowe holds dear, a Rowe who realizes he has to move on, a Noah who is ready to leave, a Rowe who needs him to stay, the capture of the fire starter, her brother, murder, arson, and Rowe Ward, Noah Keegan and the team doing their best to save lives, find arsonists and stay alive.
