Fighting For Her: A friends to lovers romance Kindle Edition

4.5 out of 5 stars 17 ratings

Florence Smith is desperately and hopelessly looking for her happily ever after, at whatever cost.

Her best friends Lottie, Dolly, Neely and Flo have been the true sisters she never had, they connect and understand each other. They're there for each other no matter what.
But what happens when that connection falters and you choose to close yourself off and willingly walk away from everything you’ve ever known?

Life happens.
Ugly, dream-shattering life.

Sonny and Flo were the last singles standing in their group and she dreamed he’d sweep her off her feet and romance her like the classic love stories she adored. Instead, his obvious disdain left her devastated, especially when he didn’t bother to hide it. So, Flo jumped at the ‘opportunity of a lifetime’ and made a break for freedom.
Running away from the only guy she really loved was supposed to help her start afresh, but instead, the consequences were life-changing, almost deadly. But she’d take that because her hometown held too many reminders of the life she’d never have.
Freedom was the one thing she yearned for, but the last thing she got, until Sonny decided it was time to fight for her. Her only hope was, that it wasn’t too late.

Fantastic end to the Soul Sisters series. I loved this book and was hooked all the way through. Flo's character and the problems that she went through, were written with empathy and were by no means cliched or over sentimental - it was hard story line, written with just the right balance. I loved hearing from all the other characters in the series and while this book follows a recognized path, its a path that works brilliantly for this series. Thank goodness Sonny finally opened his eyes and saw what we'd all seen from book 1 - Fostering Love. Another great book and highly recommended.

Stick a freaking fork in me! I am done! This series has made me so emotional! I was so mad at Sonny that I wanted to whack him in the head. I felt so bad for Flo in this book. My heart broke for her. She deserves every bit of goodness she can get. Every book in this series will blow you away!

Flo had the most heartbreaking story. Sonny took obtuse to a whole other level. Even when he got his act together, it seemed to be not enough. Flo was the strongest among the four women. Sonny was able to pull his act together and finally give Flo everything she deeply deserved.

    I read an Arc

Finding Love by Victoria Johns is a friends-to-lovers romance with a very different twist. It is book four in the Soul Sisters Series; each book features one of the group of girlfriends.

Florence is the last single girl of the group and she has secretly crushed on friend, Sonny. However, Sonny is quite the dolt and doesn’t realize how Florence feels. When she realizes her lust is unrequited she jumps at the overseas assignment she has been offered.

Her dalliance with British film star, Casper, leads to nothing but sorrow and pain. His charm expired as soon as the conquest was secured. Back to the States Flo goes, where she hopes to hide from her violent ex-lover and avoid life in general.

I haven’t read the prior books so I’m not invested in any of the characters. Jumping in on book four left me feeling the characters were one dimensional, so I’d recommend starting the series with book one to get the full flavor of the main character. The story layout is interesting and well-paced. Finding Love is a worthy read for fans of the series.

Not at all what i was expecting. really enjoyed this book. I loved how Casper was such a surprise of a character, never saw that coming and my gosh i am not a fan either. Florence i adored her, she goes through so much on the path of love and what a dangerous and heartbreaking path it can sometimes be. Sonny, why oh why can you not get it through your head what others see. A great story full of surprises and has you getting invested with the characters, especially Florence

This is a great series that follows a recognised path with regards to the love stories between the group of friends, but there is always so much more to Victoria's books and this is no exception. It's full of heartbreak, suspense and grit and I loved it.. And, let's just be thankful that Sonny finally opened his eyes and saw what we'd all seen from book 1 - Fostering Love. 5.0 out of 5 stars Another great read by Victoria Johns - keep them coming!

The final book in this series and this is all about Flo who is swept off her feet by Sonny and her problems begin. A ballsy, gritty book with suspense; it is bittersweet and the perfect conclusion. Good as a stand-alone but can recommend them all. Well done Victoria, keep them coming.
