Wicked Curse (The Royals: Warlock Court Book 4) Kindle Edition
Something is coming. The Fallen have warned us. The world has warned us. And now it’s here.
I feel it sizzling in the air around me. Magic is heavy and all of Evermore is on edge. The world is watching. Both Warwick and Evermore Academies are on the line. The warlocks have descended into chaos. Wars are brewing on more than one front, but we can’t stop now. Our world and our alliance with the rest of the super naturals species depends on it.
Just when we thought we finally caught a break, one of our own was taken. We don’t know who or what took him, but we’ll do whatever we have to do to get him back before it’s too late. I want to stay with Tilly, my best friend needs me now more than ever…except they’ll never get Logan back alive without my help. So I have to leave her with the guy who flooded her body with demon blood. The only thing keeping me sane is Beckett. We need each other like I need air to breath. We’ve never been stronger, even if no one can know we’re together.
But in the end, I question whether this is a blessing or the wickedest curse of all…

- Reviewed in the United States on October 10, 2024I love this world that Megan has created. This book has added so much lore that I am dying to read more of!
- Reviewed in the United States on November 14, 2020Wicked Curse (The Royals: Warlock Court Book 4) is the fourth book in the second “season” of The Royals. At the end of Wicked Queen, Beck and Grayson are sent home to sort out their houses (warlock and vampire) this is Beck’s story. While you don’t have to start with the first set of books, I highly recommend it. There will be spoilers from the first season as well as the first three books in this season, Wicked Omen, Wicked Wish and Wicked Lies in this review- consider yourself warned.
Wicked Curse starts off right where Wicked Lies ends… the stage of the stadium fighting the council. Holy cow… the things that Maze sees… how does he survive his visions? The portal to where Logan is, closes without them rescuing him. Logan who no one knows was gone… Or do they? Let’s just say I would not want to be Angel right now.
The remaining heirs realize that they need more manpower, and a little bit of the fallen as well. Enter the queens, guardians and the fallen. It is like a merger of season one and season two…. I am here for this. It is about time we see the other queens in action and comfortable with their powers. Serrina, Tabi and Nova show off their mad skills and then some. One guardian outshines the other, and I am not talking about Beckett. Surprisingly, it is Ashryn shines, this reserved elf allows others to see more in this book than in all of season one. We find out so much more about her that I want to hug her and feed her cookies, let her sit in a comfy chair and watch bad tv. There is a reason she is the way she is, and I got mad respect for it.
Beckett and Maze have a lot going on, both of their soulmates are not well. Both are looking for solutions to help their make-shift family. Both are facing the pressure of responsibility. Only it feels as if this time Maze is handling it better than Beckett, oh how the tides have changed.
Astrid is so much more in this book than she was in the previous three. More mature, more focused, more ready to share and be a partner to Beckett. Once she let go of the you can’t tell me what to do attitude, she because the best kind of heroine. The kind you can cheer for even when she makes a decision that has your eyes popping out of your head. Astrid has grown so much since Wicked Omen, and that growth shines through.
Wicked Curse was very much a family affair, that of the witches, warlocks and fallen. The witches and warlocks coming together openly to fight the big baddie. Some questions were answered, some were not. Others pop up along the way which are mind-blogging to contemplate. That ending though, that three way cliffhanger has me counting down the days until the release of Wicked Warlock. #logananyone #bestietilly #evermore #bookangst #whyisthenextonesofaraway #ineedanswers

- Reviewed in the United States on December 4, 2020Potential spoilers as indicated by the headline...
This is the fourth book in Astrid's and Beck's season, and they are finally on the same page. They're finally there for each other in all the right ways and it shows part way through the book. ;) That being said, they end up traveling to a different world where something is affecting Beck to make him more like the current council members than the other heirs. They have to rescue Logan only to find out he's been gone long enough to have never met Astrid. Poor Angel... being semi-tortured when all she did was fall in love with either the real or fake Logan.
So this other world... The fae are here, and they're mostly nasty. Nova is a badass here as is Astrid. And Medusa (who may have found bf material...)
Then there's the fact that to get to the fae's world, you had to go to the elves where we learn a little about Ashryn... like she's an elven princess. And her mother is cray cray. And her brother was imprisoned for unknown reasons, but they break him out and he's hot enough that Nova is over not getting Dusted. Then there are the semi-subtle hints about our elven princess and Queen of Desire...
And to even know where they had to go... they invaded the home of the Fallen where we get to meet more of them and see them outside the school settings. Here's a non-subtle hint... they're awesome. And hot. I call dibs on Tristan and maybe Mika...
Major Major Major Spoiler...
And you're left with some important characters dead. Will they stay that way?
- Reviewed in the United States on March 19, 2021Great read, Astrid will have her work cut out for her. I hope she can straighten Beckett out. Will be interesting to see how the new characters are interwoven into the rest of the story.
I did skip the intimate scene with Astrid and Beckett. One critique I hesitate to say is typos drive me crazy, the editor missed several (titled instead of tilted).
Live the characters and storyline. Looking forward to the last book in the series.🌺
- Reviewed in the United States on November 21, 2020Beckett and Astrid have finally reached a good place until they have to rescue Logan from demons. Maze can't do anything well due to distraction from his bond with Tilly. The heirs have one chance to save the world along with the witch queens. Astrid has her powers mostly under control and recovering from being dead. I love that we get to see Medusa and there may be love in her future. This is an outstanding series and every book is outstanding!
- Reviewed in the United States on March 2, 2021I can honestly say that the only thing about any of the Warlock Court Books, that made me bonkers, were the cliffhangers at the end of each one. I’ve read all four and is especially happy that Nova is finally getting to use here gifts and I can’t wait to find out how thrilled Hades is when she shows up with her friends.
I am also really excited tofind out what part the girl found from Salem, in the end, is going to play with the team/crew.
I legitimately binge read this entire series when I came across it and am soooooo excited for book #5.
If your looking for a story that keeps getting better and is not only worthy of getting lost in, than this is your book. The book itself is well written and I really am looking forward to the next one.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 4, 2020Didn't enjoy this book as much as earlier books in the series. It's been long enough between books for me to forget why I liked the characters. It was all very angsty, but I guess it is a fourth book in the series. Read them closer together would be my advice.

I am totally loving this series. Astrid is totally badass but I’m not sure Beckett needs to be in hell we need them all home and hun back to normal. I gave my fingers crossed that they win this fight.

Be prepared to miss sleep when you start this book. It seamlessly follows up from the last book advancing the storyline and growing the characters. Love the strength shown by Astrid, and cannot wait to read the next and final book in this season!!

Things aren’t looking good for Beck and astrid - or the rest of the crew. Fighting wars on multiple fronts this book keeps you on the edge of your seat. Really enjoyed

I loved the witch court books! And then loved the wicked series that followed after.
Astrid and Beckett are such a loveable kind of couple. I honestly can’t wait for wicked warlock, to be released. It’s been on my watchlist for months now 😍
