Set deep in the Milky Way galaxy, the beautiful planet, Kander, has been inhabited only by the Kalmar, a race of Alphas and Omegas, until Earth’s humans arrived years ago and disrupted their peace. Since its first dawning, Kander has been ruled by one Kalmar simply known as Kal, a supreme Alpha who harnesses a god’s spirit.

Charlie, an indignant human raised on Kander during the civil war, is beckoned back after she escaped as a teen. Needing money and a job more than her pride, Charlie is hired to retrieve a kidnapped Omega that was taken off-world. Charlie and her mercenary team work with Kal in preparation of their mission. Together, she and Kal form a plan, however, Charlie soon learns intimate details about Kal’s rare nature as a “female” Alpha.

As Charlie and her team embark on the journey to rescue the Omega, they are faced with startling questions about the true motives behind the kidnapping. It was supposed to be just another job, but when Charlie starts to give a damn about both the missing Omega and the enigmatic Alpha ruler, it leaves her in the crossfire.

Dancing in the Darkness is a 53,000-word third-person sci-fi F/F romance Omegaverse novel. It is the first book in The Alpha God series. It contains g!p material* as well as intimate scenes suitable for mature readers. This book does have a cliffhanger and plot twists that carry through the series. G!P content. No rape. No cheating. No shifters. No fempreg. But plenty of plot.

Full content visible, double tap to read brief content.

Lexa Luthor is an avid writer and reader of the Omegaverse trope especially including F/F pairing. In her books, each main character(s) is a strong-willed female, who navigates difficult situations but always ends up finding love with their mate. Every tale has a twist and is gripping, sexy, and even a bit adventurous.

When not writing, Lexa enjoys binge watching television shows like Game of Thrones, Gentleman Jack, or The L Word. Her other favorite hobbies are playing cornhole, rooting for the Kansas City Chiefs, and laying around the pool in the summer. At times, Lexa finds time to read romances (both dark and fluffy) and great sci-fi books but nothing else can beat a steamy, downright erotic F/F romance with biting, knotting, and slightly possessive love.

I love these books. I should have done this review a long time ago, it very well deserves it. For other readers who are unsure I say just try it. I was unsure if I would like it because the blurb did not really hook me, I prefer standalones, and I never read Omegaverse before this.

I decided to take a chance and read the first book a few months ago. I have since read all in the series so far and I can’t wait for the final book!

The writing, the characters and the storyline is intriguing and kept me interested for every book. It’s the lesbian space adventure I needed. An epic love story too. I enjoy the world building and have so much more to say but it really is too much to write here. Just read it! You will probably find your next fav author or at least have a good, fun read. :)

Charlie and the Pacifica crew are hired to rescue a kidnapped Omega, but nothing is as it seems.

Charlie is a mercenary who takes the jobs: the hard jobs. This time the Alpha God of Kander is asking for her crew specifically for a job. Kander does not look kindly on humans and Charlie is all human. Her crew is a mix as Starr is half human and half Kalmar and Raakor is Hurr (definitely not human).

Now they find out that they are wanted to rescue a kidnapped Omega, but no further details. The payout is huge, but Charlie feels like she is missing something. The one thing she is not missing is the tremendous attraction she is feeling towards the female Alpha God.

The attraction is mutual and undeniable. Charlie may grapple with the decisions Kal, the Alpha God, made to get to where she is, but her desire has no qualms.

Now all she has to do is rescue the Omega, keep her team alive, keep the Alpha happy, and collect the bounty. What could go wrong?

Dancing in the Darkness (Luthor Publishing, B07QDR8SHR, 2019) is the first book in “The Alpha God” series by Lexa Luthor and I am already addicted! This story has so many twists, turns, drama, and “holy sugar” moments that I am so glad I do not have to wait to read the next one. (laugh)

If you have not started this series, you need to. Seriously! I know y’all are remembering a year ago when I did not read science fiction at all - you are thinking I am a pod person. I know. I know. Charlie is amazing. I love her character. The complexity of her life is very similar to the trials and tribulations that immigrants go through here and Luthor writes well-drawn parallels.

Romance, sci-fi geek speak, murder, gun battles, and drama, this story has them all. I will warn you that it ends on a cliff-hanger. Not just any ‘ole cliff-hanger either, an “oh my sugar cookies” cliff-hanger! Luthor has me all stirred up and isn’t that what we want all writers to do to us? See you at the door….

I received an ARC of this book and I am writing a review without prejudice and voluntarily.

This book was suspenseful, had great world building, pacing and the character development was well done! I read this book in two days and loved it! The romance developing between Kal and Charlie was wonderful and smoldering! The secondary characters were well developed and had presence throughout the book. If you are looking for a fun, intriguing and sexy space adventure, pick up this series!

I really enjoyed this book and it is one of few books I have read again. The story is mainly written from the point of view of Charlie a female mercenary for hire. The world building is great as we are introduced to a world where people are not just male and female but also Alpha, Beta and Omega. If you have ever read stories in the Omegaverse you will have an idea of what that means. I totally understand why some people have a problem with the futa aspects but really I think if we were to encounter aliens from other planets it is unreasonable to expect they would be just like humans and indeed Charlie makes mention of the other types of aliens she has encountered. Unlike other Scifi books I have read which can get bogged down in describing new tech the world building, the characters and relationships in this book are great you come to care for them. Basically Charlie gets hired by Kal the High Commander of the planet to perform a mission the Kal is an Alpha Female with extra working body parts. Also unlike other books with Futas which just devolve into pure porn this has a great storyline. The cliff hanger at the end was for me the only let down as I am not a fan of cliff hangers and I usually avoid series that end that way however I was so engaged with this one that I actually made an effort to read book two in the series.

Oh my gods, this was good! <---- When you read it, you will understand this better.

I am brand new to the Omegaverse and I really enjoyed this adventure. It was exciting as well as very steamy. This did take me a little longer to read than other books. I feel this was mainly because I am new to the trope and needed some time to adjust.

It would be wise to read Lexa Luthor's description of the contents of the book on her website. It may not be for some readers. For those who are open to G!p content, I would highly recommend this book.

Be prepared for a dramatic cliffhanger at the end as well. I plan to read book 2 in this series and have every intention to read on from the positive reviews on series as a whole.

I've never heard of the Omegaverse, but love F/F sci-fi/fantasy, so I was excited to try this one out. I loved the plot and the writing! (otherwise I'd give it less stars) HOWEVER, I feel extremely cheated that it's not really F/F. I didn't get this book to read a heterosexual love scene, which is what it amounted to. I'm not sure why it's considered F/F - even the cover says it's F/F. I should have read the reviews and that's totally on me, but I normally don't read reviews about books before I buy them, as I don't want to be primed one way or the other. But this has taught me a valuable lesson to read reviews first.
If you're okay with it not being truly F/F, I say read this book. As I mentioned, I liked the plot and the style of writing and may try a different book by Lexa Luthor, but this particular series is not for me.

What an adventure! Merc Charlie and her team are called to save a kidnapped Omega. As jobs to it should be quite simple if it wasn't for the overbearing Alpha Kal who wants things done her own way. A great read that would have been finished in one go if it wasn't for the same need to sleep! Read it.

Anyone checking out the reviews for book 1 in The Alpha God series, should read all the glowing reviews for book 10, which is the final book in the series. Those reviews were written by readers who read the whole series and totally loved the books. I fell in love with the storyline and the bond which develops between the two main characters; their relationship is told within the science fiction genre with plenty of action and adventure. I can’t give this series enough praise, I enjoyed it so much.

I've read this whole series twice already, and each time I get sucked into the well-paced action and amazingly developed characters. I love that although the adult f/f storyline is prominent, the gripping plot is equally important and moves the story along quickly. There's no question of homophobia or coming out; these women are both strong, certain, and here for a good time. Can't wait for more books in this series.
