A Life Worth Living Kindle Edition

Are some white lies simply too big to forgive?

Eve and Leah are identical twins—but beyond that, they’re polar opposites. Struggling journalist Leah envies Eve’s seemingly perfect life—the loyal husband, the beautiful twin daughters, the stellar career—little knowing that what Eve longs for most is Leah’s independence.

When a shocking event upends their world, one woman seizes a split-second chance to change everything and follow her sister down a different life path. It’s a spontaneous choice, but there’s no going back. How will she deal with the fallout when covering up one untruth means lying to everyone—about everything?

One thing is clear: both twins have secrets, and both just want to be happy. But what price will they pay to live the life they’ve always wanted?

I’ve enjoyed three other books by Louise Guy for her writing style and characters. This is another one that is really interesting just as an idea for a story, but saying what that is exactly would be a spoiler.

The first part introduces identical twin sisters who couldn’t have more different personalities. It was interesting enough, but just when I wondered if it would pick up steam, something happened that changed everything. If you read the blurb for the book, it explains better than I ever could without giving anything away.

As with other books I’ve enjoyed by the same author, it requires some suspension of disbelief to enjoy the story, but it’s worth it.

In this case, seeing a very consequential decision being made and feeling my jaw actually drop, I knew that the rest would be a compelling story and that a whole lot of things were eventually going to come undone, and just wondering how that was going to play out made it difficult to put this book down. Some of what followed was full of tension knowing what was coming, some went a little differently than expected, and all of it was wrapped up well as this author always does. I didn’t want this book to end.

    Narration was also great.

The story was unique for a romance, however because it was so unrealistic it felt like it dragged on. I really got tired of reading it and was ready for it to wrap up. It really didn’t hold my interest.

Identical twins who loved to trade places as children develop into very different persons as adults, but still remarkably close. A fatal car accident changes everything. Great familial love drives the story while betrayal and hurt must be overcome. Best friends also play an important role throughout the story.

The story runs through emotional crests and troughs with turns as complicated as to keep the readers guessing . The plot however gets disambiguated in a manner which gives a happy ending.

While not an original concept the author created a well written and entertaining story line. Although identical in appearance Eve and Leah had entirely different personalities. The other set of twins in the book were the delightfully depicted Ava and Harriet who gave the story its heart and soul. An enjoyable read.

I thought ‘A Life Worth Living’ was a fantastic concept. I couldn’t wait to start this book and see how the whole story unravelled.
As the story progressed I found it became confusing and difficult to keep up with.
I found it an enjoyable read but was disappointed by the predictability of it and also found the ending rather rushed.
Where I enjoyed this book I found that I did not enjoy it half as much as I enjoyed the first book of Louse Guys that I’ve read.
