I bought this book for my 10 year old daughter who loves mythology. She could not put it down! The story is very well told and filled with adventure. The artwork is amazing! I highly recommend this book!

To start this is not a graphic novel. It is a picture book. There are pictures and blocks of text. There are no panels like a comic or word/thought balloons for dialogue.

The story itself is a mash-up of Greek mythology and the Cthulhu Mythos of H. P. Lovecraft. It basically retells the origins of the gods Apollo and Artemis (who gets left of the title here) and pits them against Cthulhu. A version of the Necronomicon also features.

I bought this book for my 6th grader because he loves everything that has to do with Greek mythology and fantasy. The illustrations caught my eye and I ended up reading it, myself. I was quickly engrossed! The story is a spine-tingling journey of a set of boy and girl twins that takes you with them through the help of the powerful, bewitching illustrations. This book is a great gift for young adolescents and adults alike!

Got this amazing book for my teenage son. He loves it. The artwork is stellar and the story telling introduces a cool twist on classic mythology. I highly recommend it for fantasy or mythology lovers.

This is a very well written book with beautiful artwork. My son, age 8, loves the story and we've read it together many times. Lots of action and adventure, with classical Greek mythology as well. I think this is the perfect book to introduce kids to Greek mythology, as it's story and artwork are exciting enough to get them reading. This would be a great gift for any boy or girl.

Von Wodtke creates an incredibly clever piece of work that synthesizes the tradition of ancient mythos, with the best of sci-fi pulp, and inclusive language that appeals to ALL ages. It is first-rate storytelling punctuated with the superlative -almost Frazetta quality- art work of Doug Sirois. I highly recommend this book!

Wow,....what a beautiful rendition of Apollo! I love the story and the artwork is Amazing. I recommend anyone who loves cthulhu and HP Lovecraft get this book. Both Artist and writer did a great job blending the two mythologies together.

3.0 out of 5 stars Pretty, but lightweight

Beautifully drawn mythological adventure, but nothing really for Cthulhu fans. In this tale, the kraken of myth is replaced with Cthulhu, who is simply spliced in without explanation or reason. He lacks any reason and basically acts like any giant monster, rather then a monstrous alien god. I found this quite disappointing., given the way it was marketed.
