About the author

Cat Writer Mollie Hunt is the award-winning author of two cozy series: the Crazy Cat Lady Mysteries featuring a sixty-something cat shelter volunteer who finds more trouble than a cat in catnip, and the Tenth Life Paranormal Mysteries involving a ghost cat. Her Cat Seasons Sci-Fantasy Tetralogy presents extraordinary cats saving the world. She recently released a COVID memoir which she calls, "a tale of a plague and politics, of depression and inspiration, and an ode to the very real and healing presence of cats." In her spare time, she pens a bit of cat poetry as well.
Mollie is a member of the Oregon Writers’ Colony, Sisters in Crime, the Cat Writers’ Association, Willamette Writers, and Northwest Independent Writers Association (NIWA). She lives in Portland, Oregon with her husband and a varying number of cats. Like her cat lady character, she is a grateful shelter volunteer.
Praise for Mollie Hunt, Cat Writer:
“I know Mollie as a true, dyed-in-the-wool cat person, as a cat guardian and a foster parent and, most importantly, as a human being. One thing I can spot a mile away is true passion... and Mollie Hunt has it. People like Mollie are rare in this world because they infuse their own curiosity… with true empathy... the recipe for not only a quality person, but, in the end, a great artist as well.”

- Reviewed in the United States on October 28, 2021This is the sort of cozy mystery that you like to curl up with on a rainy day with a cup of tea. Set on the Oregon Coast in a town full of vivid characters and an interesting ghost cat twist, the plot hums along to a satisfying conclusion.
I like that the main character is an older woman (thank you, Ms. Hunt) with verve and good sense and humor.
I look forward to reading more by this author.

- Reviewed in the United States on November 11, 2023I was drawn into Camelia's story from the first page. Lovely setting and a very likeable lady with interesting people set in a small Oregon seaside town. I especially like the ghost cat and this excellent book is like sitting down with a friend and visiting her and living her adventures with her. Mollie Hunt has a real understanding of cats and I'm hoping that there are more books with Camelia on the horizon.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 19, 2021my husband got it for me saw a promo on Instagram & knew I had to read it I was not disappointed it gives us hope we will all be with our beloved kitties again I cried @ the end beautifully written
- Reviewed in the United States on October 24, 2023This was such a fascinating, fantastic mystery! I enjoyed every sentence, page and chapter! It had me drawn in right from the 1st paragraph and held my interest throughout the entire book. My favorite characters are, of course, the cats -- Blaze, the living, and Soji, the ghost. This will definitely be one of my favorite series and I hope it will continue past the 2 that are on my Kindle. I'll definitely be continuing with this series!!!
- Reviewed in the United States on November 4, 2022If you are a cat lover that needs a cozy mystery story to escape from this crazy world, Mollie’s books are the medicine for you. Engaging characters, a good mystery in a small coastal community…and a ghost cat! What more could you ask for?!
- Reviewed in the United States on September 6, 2022I liked the mystery and the colorful characters in this 1st of a series. I found the author's repeated reference to 'old people' incredibly annoying! The main character comes across as very judgmental of others as well as her referring to herself and others as old continually throughout the book. I like to read this author's books so was excited to begin her new series. I'm not sure I will continue this series.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 7, 2021I am at the Oregon Coast right now so this was the perfect book to read. I loved it. Mollie’s gift for creating a strong sense of place really comes through. The story moves along nicely and fooled me in the end.
