Patsy Collins spends her time making things up and writing them down from her home in Lee-on-the-Solent or whilst traveling in a campervan. She shares both with her photographer husband, and sometimes acts as his assistant. When away she also enjoys scrambling round ruined castles, visiting friends and eating cake. At home she gardens, bakes (and then eats) cakes. She's the author of over 30 books, including the Little Mallow cosy mystery series.

    I think this is the most wonderful idea to get those words on paper. The author gives practical advice and prompts that can work in different ways. A book you can dip in and out of as the mood takes you. It's my new go to book for encouraging me to get my writing brain into gear.

    Having bought this book at new year, I have just learned that a story I wrote in response to one of Patsy's prompts has been accepted for publication. This means I can honestly say A Year Of Ideas has much more than paid for itself. I didn't start at the start, in case a lot of writers were thinking the same way, but I'll be dipping in again.
