    I absolutely love this series and almost always fall instantly for the couple that Ms. Wells brings to our attention, but this one is so different in characters, theme and pace that I am going to state right away that this one is my favorite, and the best so far.

    Part of the reason is that both MCs are gingers--supposedly straight Aaron the park ranger on the cover and openly gay Dean, slightly older approaching 40, an artist who escapes to Aaron's little Maine town for reasons which are pretty strong and as it turns out, giddily circumstantial.

    I am not a big fan of this kind of trope--straight man and gay man becoming friends and then...well, you know what happens. However, author Wells handles it so well and is aided by her smart decision to involve most of the characters from the previous books in the plot line and developing romance that the end result is total credibility--and a wonderful read.

    As they would say in Maine, "Uh, yup."

    Aaron has always been straight, at least he thought so. Dean is new to the area, but he shares a connection with Aaron. These two could use a new friend and maybe even more.

    I had a good time with this book. I also greatly appreciate it when the characters actually communicate with each other. These two guys are lovely characters that have been missing companionship and might have found it in each other. There are funny moments, sweet moments, and sexy times. The guys start up a friendship and they go wherever it takes them.

    I have loved this series and I think that each character is wonderful. I love how the group keeps growing and how each main guy has one or more friend they can go to for help.

    I’ve been enjoying the whole series and this book was no different. It was easy to become invested in the characters even though I did have to suspend belief a little bit that Dean would take up with Aaron after what happened with his ex. While it’s definitely part of their love story, Aaron’s super easy acceptance of his interest in Dean felt pretty trope-y.
    The painting scenes were vivid and captivating and while there’s not a ton of depth to the plot the character and relationship developed was sweet and saris - I really didn’t want to put it down.
    I did almost knock off a start for the line about PrEP making condoms a thing of the past; but the author’s not wrong, studies have shown that there has been a decrease in condom usage as the use of PrEP has increased. But from the medical community perspective, condoms are still encouraged even for PrEP users.

    I have loved the Maine men series and this book just adds to the wonderful stories that have been in this series. I would highly recommend this book!

    I love seeing each of the guys in this family if choice find love. We haven't seen as much of Aaron because of distance so it was great to read his book.

    This romance is just heartwarming- seeing the friendship develop, then adding "benefits" because they don't recognize that it's a relationship. I liked that there's no bleak moment. While I usually like an epilogue, it works to not have one because we know we'll see Aaron and Dean in the next book.

    And now I need to make the trip to Bar Harbor as part of my next trip to Maine.

    This has to be one of the sweetest books in this series. Aaron is just so easygoing and supportive of all his friends. He wouldn't begrudge them their happiness although it does make it very clear that he is single amd has been for longer than he'd like.
    A late night chat with Levi leaves him more than ready to let love in, if and when it strikes.
    Dean has slowly been moving closer and closer to his home state, Maine. He feels that inspiration will come back him again if he heads east. He's not wrong. The views from his rental are lush and green but he finds more to paint when he sets out on the hiking trails.
    A chance encounter between the two men sparks a friendship that quickly becomes a comforting need to be around each other.
    I love all the characters but Aaron's mum and Grammy hold a special place in my heart. True love and complete acceptance is all these women know.
