After The Bronze Kindle Edition

4.7 4.7 out of 5 stars 2 ratings

Brooke’s existence has been lived through a chlorinated world of isolation and training. With freedom from a regimented swimming career just around the corner, her parents devastate her with the news she is being sent to an exclusive North Shore finishing school in Sydney, a chance to help her acclimate from the competitive Olympics to the real world.

Brooke promises herself she will not attend without seeking to understand her hidden, clandestine world of sexual fantasies. Before her “incarceration” begins, she seduces Jim, the quiet yet fervent son of the local mechanic. As Brooke seeks to find her place outside of the pool, she finds more than a simple sexual relationship. She finds herself.

After The Bronze is a 20,600-word novella.

Luna Blue lives in Sydney, Australia, and is a full-time writer.

Her life in Newtown is shared with potentially lethal amounts of coffee, her soul mate Clarke and their pet pantha, Buffy, who may, or may not be real.

She is a regular relationship and dating advice columnist for a leading Australian Magazine and a radio show host. She is now an ex-journalist because writing contemporary women's fiction is far more interesting than reporting the news. And it lets her make stuff up.

A Philosophy major from Sydney University is her favourite accolade. Ending up a sports journalist (retired) is her least favourite.

After the Bronze is her first novella.

This was a novella full of steamy sex! Brooke is basically starting her life for the first time, after finishing with her swimming career.
She hooks up with sexy Jim as a means to, well basically, have a lot of sex!
Really quite funny and Brooke is a lovely character.

I really enjoyed this novella. Funny at times and steamy too! A good story about what freedom and additction can mean as one tries to find their place in the world.
