Sometimes, it's nice to escape a world you’re familiar with
to visit one that is foreign.
Books take us to places we fantasy about or heard whispers of.
Personally, the world of BDSM is a place I visit in the pages
of a story.
I’m not judging, identifying with or condoning; merely taking pleasure in a domain that sparks my curiosity.
If the author does their job right, it is easy to fall into the book and feel
at ease and not self conscious due to the material.
This author did just that.
We all have a best friend, the one you trust, one you can share intimate
details that you would never speak of to anyone else.
This story follows three best friends Biljana/Billie, Jasmin and Vicky
who are making an effort to change/improve/move on with their lives.
1. Billie not only lost the love of her life but also her Dom.
Life is on hold, suspended in time.
Prepare to feel bleakness when Billie a submissive craves
control by a master gone forever.
2. Jasmin is attracted to her boss yet drawn to a notorious criminal.
Prisons are usually cold and hard. The only hardness Jazz found
was in Diego’s pants.
3. Vicky’s love life has fizzled out, she’s determined to figure out why
her husband’s libido is non-existent.
A heated discussion delivers the hottest sex of Vicky’s life.
Chapters alternate between the trio with explicit sex scenes.

What a wonderful introduction to what I know will be an amazing series! I love how you introduce us to all your characters giving us just enough of Vicky and Jasmine all while keeping us focused on Billie and her story of a love lost. I look forward to your next book! And by the way the sex scenes you wrote are very hot!

This was my first Al Daltrey book and definitely won't be my last!!
This book captured my attention from the very first page (which is an absolute necessity for me) and kept me hanging on until the very suspenseful, cliffhanging end.
Pleasure, Pain or Purpose looks at the relationships between 3 best girl friends, together and separately in their individual relationships. Al allows the reader to feel a connection with each woman individually and when they are together as best friends. From their early days discovering their sexuality and through out their pain and pleasure in their lives they are there for each other.
I especially felt the pain of Biljana. She recounts to her girlfriends through emails how she became involved in the BDSM lifestyle, and because that is a very intense lifestyle she felt both pain and pleasure very intensely. I also connected with Vicky because in a lot of ways she is every married woman and what she and her husband go through is very relatable. I didn't quite connect with Jasmine because I didn't understand her relationship with Diego. I'm hoping that relationship with be explored in one of the other books.
Then there is the sex!! It's very hot and fits in well with the story. It's not sex just for the sake of selling an erotica book. Be warned that there is BDSM in this story!!
I cannot wait for the next book to see how things progress for each woman and what happens with the surprise ending of this one.
