    I read a lot and I love long series or long novels. I normally like things that have a realistic bent to them. Sometimes you get a story that seems a little far fetched or has characters that continue to make bad decisions that drive me crazy. I am happy to say that this group of characters went from one incredible situation to another, yet I continued to want to read these books. An excellent storyline. I did get a little exasperated about the different characters continually referring to their pistols as a “piece”. Having one character with that affectation would be okay, but not every character.

    Overall, a fun group of books to read. I am now going to go check out some of the other books written by this author. I find that I like his overall style of writing. Kept me reading...

    Russell is a drunk, he is estranged from his wife Sarah. He lives with his best friend, Tim. But when Tim asks him to go on a trip with him, he has no idea that the world is about to be turned on its head. The plane they are in crashes in the middle of the mountains, and Russell has no idea where they are, or which way to go. But go he does, meeting a lady and her dog, Max, who helps him. Sarah gets trapped in a subway train and must fight her way out. Then she finds out that a mobster guy has hired guys to take her to him. These books are a fast read! Well written.

    The story was good but the author kept using the same words over and over again when describing things. Not sure if he knows what a thesaurus is. Some examples: flanked, verdure, clockwise and counter clockwise in describing turning the steering wheel of the car or door handle, blind corners (never just a corner), creeper, goons, to name a few. It really got annoying especially having to read these same words through 5 books. Either the dog or someone always flanked someone else. Must have used this hundreds of times. This one was the most annoying
