- Reviewed in the United States on June 26, 2025Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI have read this book more times than i genuinely care to admit. this has all been in the span of about a year might i add. the way the reader is able to follow Evie and Aurora’s relationship is both beautiful and complex. there’s laughter, heartache, tenderness, and much more that any real couple would have. the concept of the book itself is also incredibly intriguing and leaves you wishing to be a shifter yourself. highly recommend for any fantasy lovers as well as sapphics looking for a depiction of a beautiful relationship with a lovely ending.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 21, 2025Format: KindleVerified PurchasePthe depth and quality of the writing before you get 3 chapters in.
I would class the author’s world building on par with the late Anne McCafferey. This author drops the world building details with care, and in a completely organic way that just flows with the story. There are no globs of details that bombard the reader in an info dump or disrupts the story. The world building details unfold naturally as the characters are moving through the story and their world.
Of the two MC’s, I found Evie to be a little annoying in the beginning, but she matures quickly and redeems herself in my eyes. (She lived a pretty sheltered life.) I felt connected to Aurora from the beginning, and her mysterious past gets you hooked. Plus she is a complete BADASS and I do love uber strong female MCs. I am most drawn by Aurora’s personality and her unwavering kindness and strong moral compass, it was a wonderful counterpoint to her physical and magical prowess.
There were a few details I thought could have been added, but I think that the author had intended this to potentially be the beginning of a series. (Though this seems to be her only published work so far.) A few predictable points, but really reallly very well written, particularly for a debut novel.
I hope the author follows up with a sequel or something soon, though it seems to be like 6 years since the publication date of this one.

- Reviewed in the United States on May 15, 2024Format: KindleVerified PurchaseEmily Noon’s debut novel, Aurora's Angel, is a fantastic blend of romance, suspense, and fantasy that will keep you enthralled from beginning to The End. This story follows the journey of a broken-winged avian and a shapeshifter huntress, whose unlikely alliance and growing bond could change their world forever.
The world-building in this book is nothing short of phenomenal. Noon creates a vivid and immersive universe filled with intricate details that bring every scene to life. From the dark underground cages to the perilous paths the characters traverse, every setting is richly described, making the reader feel as though they are part of the adventure.
The romance between Aurora and Evie is a beautifully crafted slow burn. Their attraction grows gradually and organically, making their connection feel authentic and deeply emotional. The character development is outstanding, with both characters being complex, relatable, and compelling. Aurora's battle-weary demeanor and guarded heart juxtaposed with Evie's struggle to naviagate her newfound feelings make for a captivating dynamic.
Noon balances suspense and mystery throughout the novel. The plot twists are cleverly woven into the narrative, kept me guessing and eagerly turning pages (or listening in my case). Each twist adds depth to the story and propels the characters into new and thrilling challenges.
The steamy scenes between Aurora and Evie are both passionate and tender, enhancing the emotional stakes of their relationship. These moments are captivating, adding to the overall intensity of their bond.
The audiobook version of Aurora's Angel is a true delight, thanks to the fantastic performance by the AMAZING Abby Craden. The narration brings the characters to life with distinct voices and emotional depth, making the listening experience truly engaging, as we have come to love from Craden.
Overall, I am impressed with this debut novel from Emily Noon. Her ability to weave a compelling story filled with great world-building, suspense, and rich character development is truly impressive. I am looking forward to reading more from her in the future.
Aurora's Angel is a must-read for anyone who loves a captivating and heartwarming fantasy romance.

5.0 out of 5 stars 10/5 Stars!!!
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseTwilight gave shapeshifters a bad rep for me and I am sooo glad my curiosity got the better of me and I took a chance on this book.
The story was rich, characters were layered and just struck the perfect balance for my taste! At some point I realised the characters’ journey kept going but not once did I get bored or annoyed by the length, alternately, I wanted the story to keep going! I just have high praise for this book. I loved every chapter!

5.0 out of 5 stars Good surprise.
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI never get attracted towards fantasy stories. Same happens with the case of harry potter and GO. so much hype but as soon as i came know its all fantasy i get detached.
But when i gave them a chance a good fantasy book or movie sweep me of the floor. This particular story of Aurura takes me to a journey. I loved both character slow pace yet exciting romance and story. A proper universe is created by the writter which add as an soul to the whole experience. A character is so badass yet so sweet.
Here i have a complaint the character who is so badass must have some gray side but that can be neglected. A revenge, a sca,r a romance, an adventure. Good work by writter i have so much expectation from Emily Noon looking forward for her new books.
