- Reviewed in the United States on January 29, 2018An incredible story by a master story teller. Lorne and her husband Tony are private eyes, and Lorne maintains a good relationship with her formal police employers and her former investigation partner, Katy. When bodies start appearing near pubs and restaurants, the police get focused on finding a cop killer and don't give their attention to the pub area killings. The first victim's sister hires Lorne to locate her sister, and when she is found murdered, to find her killer. The book gives you an intimate look at the murderers while the investigators determine the link between the victims seems to be internet dating sites. The twists at the end really make the story. Really enjoyed the book.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 12, 2019The Justice series continues with Lorne Warner now retired and working as a PI, although her continuing police friends are all still present. The premise of this mystery is scarily possible and could open a few peoples eyes (no spoilers). As always, a quick and satisfying read.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 9, 2013Lorne and her husband, Tony, who run a small PI business are contacted by the sister of woman who has been missing for several days. Lorne, with the help of her former DI partner, Katy, start an investigation when the woman is discovered murdered the next day. Another body appears and their investigation leads them to an internet dating site. The case becomes confused when the victims turn from female to male. Two killers? A bi-sexual? With an on-line shopping center of lonely people seeking that perfect companion, the killer has endless opportunities to hone his/her craft and satisfy an ever increasing appetite to kill. Can Lorne and Katy uncover the truth before another innocent dies?
A page-turner that will keep you entertained from the very first page. Grab some snacks, something to drink and turn off the phone. You're not going to want to put this one down until the very last page--and then you'll want more.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 25, 2024Another one hard to put down. Cant wait for the next one. Praying the dogs don’t get hurt and the kennel dosnt get burned down.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 2, 2014It's interesting to see how this book is centered around internet dating as to where the killer picks up his victims. Who nowadays have not used it once or twice? As the story develops, it's really interesting to see how the killer changes his tactics constantly and MO, due in part to psychological problems and also due to his desire to throw cops off his scent. It was hard to tell, sometimes, what he was planning to do next due to his mental instability and multiple psychotic episodes. The ending was especially unexpected, so the unpredictabilty factor was on point with the book's many intriguing twists and turns. At first, some of the phrases used in the book also threw me off too as well because the murders were based in England, besides being written by an English author but as I kept reading the book, I found that they did not detract from my interest level in the book. I wish there were more books out there with similar themes. Overall, highly recommended.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 26, 2015I enjoyed this book kept me interested to the end. I like a twist in a story and this had a good twist.
I find M.A. Comely writings good entertainment.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 3, 2014I started reading M.A. Comley's "Justice Series" when they first started being published. I have every Justice book she has written--in fact, she is the only author whose books have kept me so interested in their series that I just kept buying each one as they came out. And it didn't hurt that she kept her books reasonably priced so that I could afford to buy all her books.
One of the things that I really like about this book is that it brings out the dangers of on-line dating, or should I say blind dating--real blind dating because you never know who you meet on-line is going to be who they say they really are, or what they really are. You read in the news all the time about people either being killed or kidnapped because of someone they met on-line, especially children. This book is not about children meeting on-line strangers, but meeting strangers on-line by adults is just as dangerous.
I won't review the story itself as others have already out-lined the whole story but I have to tell you that the Justice Series is one of my most favorite series and as long as M.A. Comley keeps writing them I will keep reading them. They are very interesting, exciting, and keeps you reading to find out what happens next. I hope Ms. Comley keeps the series going.

4.0 out of 5 stars Poor Tony. Misses out on all the fun ? ! ?
A bit of an improbable story, but compulsive reading. Murders galore, and really it was just a single slip up that eventually gave away the game. As usual Lorne and Katy eventually track down who is responsible. And Charlie is really coming out of her shell at last. Good read.
