Angel in Flight Kindle Edition

4.2 out of 5 stars 3 ratings

Raised by her aunt Margaret, teen Robin Wood loves to draw pictures of the angels who saved her life when she was four. They kept her company until rescuer Michael plucked her from the snow after a plane crash claimed the lives of her family.
It takes a lot of coaxing by Robin’s high school art teacher and Michael to convince Margaret to let her attend a college-level art program for gifted students.

Robin faces significant challenges on her first time away from home—acceptance by strangers of her disability in a 1970s small college town and the embarrassment of revealing her scarred body to roommates. The last thing she expected was a boy named Jeremy… and falling in love. But will he accept her, physical and emotional scars, and all?

This story is about a teen girl named Robin who attends a summer art class at a college away from home. Because she was left handicapped after an accident when she was four, Robin has lead a relatively sheltered life with her aunt and grandmother. This summer adventure places her into new and somewhat scary situations: new friends with the same shared love of art, a bully with serious issues of his own, a special friend who may even become a boyfriend, and another friend who wants to take that potential boyfriend away.

This is a well-written story that deals with lots of teen angst. It was an easy read and I really enjoyed it.

I received this coming of age story as a gift. I thought it captured teen adventures from the 70's well.
Robin is a teen who survived a terrible accident. It left her with scars inside and out. The story follows her on her adventures as a teen on her first trip without adult supervision, and follows her as she grows into a confident young adult. I found it engaging and sweet.
