Antagonist (Dads of Stillwater Book 2) Kindle Edition

4.4 4.4 out of 5 stars 547 ratings

Single dads. Polar opposites. Undeniable chemistry.
Harrison

Meeting at a bachelor auction for charity has trouble written all over it as far as I am concerned. Especially when the guy with the winning bid seems to be after only one thing...a good time between the sheets.

Refusing the advances of a man who’s too good looking for his own good, is easy at first. But how can I stay away from him when our kids are in the same class and trouble is already brewing between the two?

Fletcher
What do you do when the guy you can’t stop thinking about—and thought you’d never see again—turns up at your kid’s school?
You bring your A-game and flirt until he caves.

Harrison is hell bent on resisting the chemistry between us.
That is until we’re thrown together to organize the school’s Spring Fair.
Will that be my only chance to prove to him that I’m looking for more than a casual fling?

Antagonist is book 2 in Ana Ashley’s new series, Dads of Stillwater. You can expect bumping heads, show-stealing kids, a school fair so heated it may just go up in flames, lovable secondary characters, and Ana’s usual happy ever after.

Antagonist is an excellent beginning to a new series. The main characters are lovely and a little bit snarky. There are interesting and well-placed secondary characters, including good townspeople and cute kids. The antagonist is sufficiently evil, and I was sad about that whole situation.
This is well written with a good flow, and I became invested in Fletcher and Harrison's budding relationship pretty quickly. They are sexy and sweet, and their HEA is believable. They are also good fathers. What more could a reader want?
I look forward to more from this author.

Single dads all over the place in this town. It’s insta-lust for these two at a bachelor auction but not a lot of like between the two. Circumstances force them together and they finally give in. A sweet story of new romance after each thought it wouldn’t happen again for them. The kids are adorable and the side characters are entertaining. There were a lot of characters that were introduced that I thought maybe have had books just by the way they were written, I’ll definitely have to look that up in Ashley’s backlog. Onto book 2!

I read this book a while ago and just realized I never wrote the review. We met Fletcher and Harrison (briefly) in Newcomer and then of course were teased by them as a perspective couple in the last chapter. Despite it all they became a great couple and their angst issues and exes get resolved. Another wonderful Ana love story.

This was a great start to Dads of Stillwater. Fletcher and Harrison had a rocky start both assuming something of the other but when they forced to be around each other because of their children they eventually get their act together. Both have ex wives but while Harridon's is great Fletcher's ex wife is self absorbed throw in a jealous society mother and jealous coworker and you have some hiccups to a HEA but they eventually get there in the end. Can't wait for Milo and Ellis story.

This is an offshoot of the Chester Falls series, in a town not far away, Stillwater. This was a great start to the series. So many feels, a little angst to keep things interesting, and a wonderful HEA with a perfect amount of steam.

Single dads come together in a mildly angsty novel. Their kids are cute, the exes complete opposite, the heat scorcher. Stillwater may be small, but the drama should manifest throughout the series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sometime you just have to fall in love!

Contains: 2 single dads, hate (not really more foreplay) to lovers, and a loooooot of intriguing twists.

I would tell you, this story is awsome. We got 2 single dads, one with momma oversea, the other with mommy in town as a bestfriend. The love story develops slowly but surely until all plot twist appear. It is so intriguing and kept up reading. I really wanted to know all how it was going to ended, could not put this book down until the end. I love it.

Recc to all lovers of fluffy sweet smoochy characters with a lil load of drama.

5.0 out of 5 stars A real surprise

I came across this as a recommendation from Amazon and I wasn’t disappointed. If like me, you like a story with MCs who are parents, then this is for you. I loved both characters and all the other side characters (most of which I hope get a book of their own!) and the story was really enjoyable. Looking forward to picking up the next one!

4.0 out of 5 stars A Lovely Story.
Reviewed in Canada on October 12, 2022
Well, at one point I thought I was going to give up on this tale, thank goodness I didn't as it turned into a wonderful story with everything you could ask for. The beginning was good but after about 8% it started to flag for me, thankfully at around 19% it really perked up and I was in! Two adorable men, two bitches you love to hate, and two sweet little cuties, and one snake. The plot is a rollercoaster, one minute sweet and then we are suddenly thrown into turmoil and angst, a lovely, enjoyable read.

Aww this is sooo good. Just yummy, like warm gooey chocolate sauce on brownies. Heartwarming and intriguing modern romance with blended families and new friends. Great characters. I look forward to reading the next one. Engaging easy read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Single dads!!!
Reviewed in Canada on May 6, 2022
I love single dad tropes and this was one seriously great story. With so many ways that you can interpret "antagonist" you aren't sure if you are getting enemies to lovers or just a character goading the other.

Fletcher is that character who loves to push Harrison’s buttons and it could be funnier to read.
