The open sea calls God's creatures to a great adventure! In their polar fjord surrounded by the glory of the northern Aurora, four young bears are visited by their friend-an eccentric albatross named Abner-and called to follow him on the winds to the ends of the earth, to discover the unknown land of the Southern Lights. As the bears sail towards the antipodes, they discover danger, friends, and foes along the way. The bears must work together to overcome their fears and unveil the mystery of the Aurora Australis. In the mythical tradition of C.S. Lewis's Narnia Chronicles, this is a tale for children who dare to imagine the world beyond the great Ice Wall. Visit dragoncommonroom.com for a sneak preview!

Finding the Light
Aurora Bearialis is a poetic tale for the ages. Inspired and prophetic, it calls to mind the hero's quest for wisdom and truth, and ultimately, redemption in finding God within. This book is for adult and child, alike. It will surely be a classic. May God continue to bless the creators.

I have never been more excited about a book in my entire life. After following the Dragon Common Room on their telegram channel, this book exceeded expectations and anticipation! A feel good story! The Christianity and symbology their minds created is a masterpiece filled with everything good, true, and beautiful. A delight for everyone, young and old. Plus, the poetry sings to your soul on every page!

I love that this is an epic for children, yet the literary techniques used to construct the writing style are complex. The acts are like chapters. Since some pages have less pictures on them than others this is helpful if one would like a break with your children and return again with ease. However, honestly we could not put it down!

The kids instinctively learn the meter (iambic pentameter).
As easy as it is to sit down, pick it up, and wonder! Additionally this tale will enrich vocabulary through rhymes and other linguistic phenomena.

I'm buying this book for all my loved ones as a family heirloom for generations to come. Enjoy the journey!

This is a gorgeously illustrated narrative poem. The story is cute, and while it can be a bit hard to follow at times (the authors do not talk down to their readers and know that kids love learning new, big words), overall it's a straightforward enough plot with enough context clues to figure things out. I haven't tried reading it to kids yet, but others have and say they enjoy it. This book would be worth purchasing for the artwork alone, but when coupled with a fun story and poetry that challenges the reader to move out of the mediocrity modern writing has pushed on the market, it's an excellent choice.

My experience comes from reading this book out loud over the course of several sittings with a 2, 4, and 6-year-old.
    Pros:
    - The artwork is persistent, consistent, and engaging throughout the book, The characters are uniquely identifiable. Often when one is portrayed as in peril, a child will notice and comment on it before the text catches up to that point.

    - It is in verse, occasionally complex. It is not prose, but never has a child been perplexed.

    - The allegorical elements are not heavy-handed. Think more Lord of the Rings than The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe.

    - The publishing itself is high quality inside and out.

    Cons:
-The word choice of 'Bro' is overused and jarring, it feels diminutive for a story trying to convey serious characters at work in a world with texture.

I am looking forward to more work from the Dragon Common Room and applaud this output. Keep on crushing.
