Britain. An island paradise, rich with gold and silver - and the world's most powerful military machine wants it all for itself. The country and its tribes have been hammered into one unified colony, under one law - Roman law.
When the king of the Iceni dies, his wife, Boudicca, is left with a decision: continue her husband's path of compromise with the Roman invaders, or be true to the voice of freedom inside her.
With the help of a brilliant young druid named Fox, Boudicca's choice ignites one of the bloodiest revolts in Roman history, a tragic inferno which will enshrine her as one of history's greatest icons of freedom and rebellion.
This graphic novel, drawn by Johan Swärd and written by Neal Romanek, depicts for the first time the harsh and beautiful world of Celtic Britain in vivid detail- its gods and wild landscapes, its sacred sites and battle lore, and its poet-priests and its warrior-queens.
Neal Romanek is an American-British writer and media journalist based in London. A graduate of USC's School of Cinematic Arts, Neal has written narrative film and TV for major studios and TV companies as well as indy producers. As a journalist, he has edited major industry magazines and is a regular guest lecturer on the art and craft of screen storytelling.
Neal's speciality is building fantastic, visionary storyworlds and pushing characters to their moral limits within them. His graphic novel, BOUDICCA looks at the bloody Roman occupation of Celtic Britain from the point of view of both sides of the conflict. His book SKIES OF VENUS is a new instalment in Edgar Rice Burroughs' classic "Carson Of Venus" series and features lots of adventure and swashbuckling, as well as examining race and empire.

Johan Swärd is a Swedish illustrator and comic book artist based in Västerås, Sweden.
He has always loved to draw, especially comics and to tell interesting stories. He graduated from the Sequential arts and storytelling at the University of Gävle (HiG).
He has done a lot of illustrations, portraits throughout the years and always strived to be better than the last work he has done.
He believes that when you are reading a comic book it all needs to flow, artwork and dialogue needs to work together. The script and the art needs to be on the same page, nor one or the other should scream louder than the other.
With a love for details he hopes you will see new things in his panels each time you read them.
