Beautiful Mistakes Reread- YES Chemistry- A- HEA-yes Girl meets boy in a bar, the girl tells off the boy in a bar, the boy is her boss, and they fall in love. Well okay, there's some a lot more that happens in between that, but don't worry we'll get to that. While the main characters are already "starcrossed" lovers or as I see it lovers with some obstacles we as readers already know this type of juicy read is what we live for. I mean what's not to love about a story revolving around a conflict from the very first chapter. Of course, this is not the central conflict in the story, and the author takes the reader on a journey of love, guilt, and redemption all while having a playful atmosphere with laugh out loud moments. The Negative So now to the SPOILERS! The main character was whiny at times and don't get me wrong I'm all about the girls rule movement we're finding more and more in books, but sometimes it's a little too much, you feel me. For instance when the best friend and main character jump to a conclusion about specific situations and just downgrade Caine, then it's just random and thrown in there. Also, I HATE love triangles, and I'm not saying there's a love triangle in this book BUT, Rachel does consider going back with her ex, multiple times and she does use him to get Caine jealous. And yes it does work well with the storyline, and it's not done in a crass way, she doesn't sleep or kiss him, but it confused me on how she wanted to act like an adult and then she starts playing games. The going back and forth if I don't need him, but I can't control my body, I mean close your legs and get a vibrator girl, you can manage your body. The Positive So for all the good, because let's be honest there would be no way I would give this book so many positive stars if I wouldn't 1,) reread it and 2,) actually enjoy reading it the first time and not skip through some of the pages. The chemistry and dialogue between Rachel and Caine was hot, I mean it was great and funny, and yes I wanted to throat punch both of them multiple times, but none the less it was great. The supporting characters were hilarious, especially Charlie A+ for him, I wish I had a boss like him. Her thesis was very sweet and how it tied into the whole book was very cute, and once you find out the origins behind it, you can't help but think "oh how perfect." Of course, this an HEA ending with them getting married were they initially met all those years ago.

    When Rachel Martin decided to tell off a total stranger because she thought he had screwed over her best friend she felt good about herself. But when she learned she had told off the wrong man, she figured she would never see him again.

    The next day at school when she walks into Professor West's class she realizes that her mistake from last night is staring her in the face. Professor West is the beautiful stranger from last night and she is now his TA. What is the world is she going to do? Apologize and hope he forgives her.

    As the book progresses, you start to see flashback from Professor West's (Caine) life. At first these flashbacks make you feel that maybe this is the reason he is closed off to relationships but as they continue, you will see those flashbacks have a lot more meaning behind them.

    Rachel and Caine had this undeniable attraction but they both knew it was wrong to do anything because he was a teacher and she was his TA. But people don't always do that they should. Sometimes feelings and urges take over.

    The more you read, the more into the story you get. But then you get hit with the plot twist and let me tell you what, it was very well thought out.

    Will mistakes from the past tear Caine and Rachel apart before they can see where their relationship will go? Will they be strong enough to get through these mistakes or will it be the end of them?

    This isn't your typical forbidden student/teacher romance. It is forbidden to a point where professors are not supposed to sleep with their TA's but I feel that this book is different.

    I really enjoyed this book. I loved the back and forth between Rachel and Caine was great. Rachel was a strong will woman and even thought she didn't take Caine's crap, she knew her heart might get broken.

    Once I read the plot twist, my heart ached for both Caine and Rachel. I don't want to give to much away but let's just say that you never know when someone from your past is going to show back up.

    This book has it all. It has the good girl, bad boy. It has the forbidden love teacher/student. It has the steamy sex and it has the base plot that is heart wrenching. I’m just not sure it fully developed the feelings in the moment. It was overly descriptive in some areas (why do I need to know the full paragraph of a description of what you IMAGINED the little girls house to look like down to the dead cars in the yard) but I can’t have the full thoughts of the heroine and then the hero when she is seeing an opera for the first time. I would think those descriptive emotions would have really been tense. All in all, it’s a good book. Definitely worth the read. Hopefully there is a sequel. I’d love to read Rachel’s sister’s story

    Another well written story by Vi Keeland. As per usual, the plot is thought provoking, heartwarming and also heartbreaking. This story deals with sexual abuse of a minor, overcoming adversity, and the unconventional way a teenage boy steps up to report this atrocity but grows up carrying unwarranted guilty feeling that he didn’t do enough. Readers become privy to the backstory of Rachel and her sister with snippets throughout the book. The adult relationship between doctoral student Rachel and Professor Caine is well executed with good character development and believable sexual chemistry.

    I particularly enjoyed the secondary characters, Charlie, Rachel’s protective boss, and Lydia and Umberto, Rachel’s thesis subject. There was a truly eye opening storyline involving Lydia and Umberto’s 50 year marriage and the course of events that make one question, “What would you do when the love of your life develops Alzheimer’s. I don’t want to divulge too much.

    The conclusion was predictable and satisfying in its own right. If there is one criticism I have to make it’s that I would have wanted to know more about Rachel’s sister and her child. I question in my mind who the father is. We, as readers, did not get much info and I’m leaving this book with unresolved questions. Otherwise, it was as enjoyable read from cover to cover. I recommend this book.

    My experience to this is similar, not a love story. But made me see that, I even have more to thank my sisters for as I am the youngest of 3, and they are my angels and protectors as the professor. I am the angel for my bestie since 4th grade, and her safe place.

    It is always hard subject to help others, as far as my experience goes is it is usually not just 1 person that is every effected, and when that 1 person speaks up it stops the chain.

    The first time Rachel Martin saw him, she assumed the man her BFF pointed out had lied about his marital status, therefore Rachel pulled no punches letting him know what she thought of him, no matter how sexy his smirk was.     'Beautiful Mistake' is NOT a typical student/teacher forbidden romance because even though the story has several attributes of the trope (the angst that seems to constantly surround Rachel and Caine’s interactions as well as Caine’s hot/cold demeanor when it comes to his feelings for Rachel versus his need to remain professional and not make another bad decision), there’s a depth to the story that is sometimes lacking in other books with similar storylines.

    'Beautiful Mistake' was beautifully written and proves yet again why I adore Vi Keeland's writing.

    Wow! I’m in awe of this remarkable story! In my opinion, Vi Keeland delivers her best work to date with Beautiful Mistake. This book is utter perfection on all levels. There’s the usual amusing banters, the burning hot chemistry, the anticipation, the sexy hero with a dirty mouth, the feisty heroine and an unique twist. The tone of the book is more serious than her previous novels, but it makes it the whole package with an emotional level that touched me profoundly.

    Beautiful Mistake starts out strong with Rachel yelling at Caine in a bar about his manwhore actions, only to find out there’s error on the person. Her mortification only raises the next day when she discovers he’s Professor Caine West and she’s his new TA for the semester. From that moment, we have all the elements in place for a passionate read with some dose of humour.

    I loved everything about these two. When they’re together, you can’t help but feel the lust, desire, chemistry they deny themselves. I must admit that this kind of anticipation to finally see them succumb to the temptation was perfectly written. Together they just match and make a highly combustible duo. Caine likes to use his mouth to make Rachel blush with his suggestive comments and the heat level only increases with each interactions.

    I like them as a couple, but also as individuals. I fangirled over Rachel’s authentic personality. She shows her strength with her feisty attitude, but she also has a heart of gold with her need to help others. She’s an heroine that is also hiding behind the hurt of her past and keeps guarded, making her vulnerable by moments. I love this multi-faceted aspect of her persona. In Professor Caine West we have an arrogant and somewhat cold man in the classroom, but when he’s outside he’s an attentive guy that’s undeniably attracted by Rachel. He’s denying this magnetism they have, but his jealous and possessive actions don’t lie.

    The way the book is written in dual point of view from Rachel in the present and Caine mostly in the past is interesting. Every single time the story switched back to the past and little new details was added I found myself invested in their life even more. These elements from the past forged the people they are and it helped understanding their behavior in the present.

    Beautiful Mistake enters incontestably in my favorite reads of the year. I felt so much reading this memorable story. I found myself with palpitations from the overload of feels and smiles from the sweetness of some moments, but also tears of heartache from the poignant and difficult events. Vi Keeland captured my attention wholly with this explosively beautiful couple. Do you a favor and grab this beauty, you won't regret it.
