Blood Royal: A novel of Anne Boleyn and her family (Mollie Hardwick Historical Saga Novels) Kindle Edition
Pride comes before a fall…
Tudor England
When Thomas Boleyn, grandson of a cloth merchant, married Elizabeth Howard, daughter of the Earl of Surrey, he was forging an alliance destined to serve his ambition.
Of the children born of their loveless union only three survive; George, Mary and Anne. As soon as they are of age Thomas, now knighted and Ambassador for King Henry VIII, places them at royal courts in France and the Low Countries to be seen and educated in all aspects of courtly life.
The beguiling Mary, in the naive belief she is fulfilling her cruel father’s ambition of gaining royal favour, becomes the French king’s mistress before catching the roving eye of King Henry himself.
At the court of the French Queen, Anne blossoms in beauty and grace. On her return to England all are struck by her radiance, none more so than King Henry himself.
With her sister Mary in disgrace, cast out by her family for bearing Henry’s child, Anne determinedly holds on to her virtue.
But Thomas Boleyn’s ambitions will end up having disastrous consequences. No matter how faithful Anne is, nothing will stop King Henry VIII from getting the male heir he desires … and she is destined to pay the ultimate price.
BLOOD ROYAL is a historical novel set in Tudor England and following the rise and fall of Anne Boleyn and her family.

- Reviewed in the United States on February 26, 2025Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI enjoyed reading Ann Boleyn's story from different perspectives -- her mother, her sister, her nephew, Thomas Wyatt, and a surprise Emilia Bassano at the end, with a cameo by Will Shakespeare. Well written and sheds new light on this audacious English queen.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 20, 2025Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseI found the first few pages to be slow reading. Got disinterested quickly. Was disappointed. Unfortunately I stopped reading the book. Maybe I will pick it up at a later date.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 17, 2025Format: KindleVerified PurchaseAbsolutely loved this book. So many bppks have been written about Anne Boleyn, but What really made it different and enjoyable was the story was told through a few different main characters . Historically speaking the author stuck to some facts. I will definitely read more of her work.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not bad. Not great.
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseNot scholarly, but a tolerable read. Yes, as a previous reviewer has noted, some of the historical detail is fudged, but this is a novel, not a learned text. A reasonable effort for an American not raised with our British history, (I assume from the style this is a US effort).
Mad looking woman on cover (wrong colour eyes if she is supposed to be Anne) almost put me off, but this smacks of self-published work with all the limitations of presentation therein.
Read it, if so inclined) for what it is. The writing is not terrible!

3.0 out of 5 stars Just not for me...
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseCould not finish this book! The history was all wrong such as the dates of the Boleyn children's births. The majority of Historians, including myself, believe Mary was the eldest, born around 1499, followed by Anne in 1501 with George being born last. The author made up a new spelling of Eustace Chapuys' last name and many other things were also incorrect. Really tried hard, but not for me, unfortunately!
