Body Language (Slave to Beauty Book 1) Kindle Edition

3.7 out of 5 stars 5 ratings

Naïve yet irresistible Andrew Billingham is in love. Quite literally head over heels in love, actually. After meeting the heart-stoppingly gorgeous Bryony whilst out jogging, Andrew soon realizes Bryony is what’s been missing from his life. Bryony, and the life of adventurous love-making she brings to his normally stoic existence.

So, when Bryony’s employers send her abroad for six months, Andrew is certain while they’ll allow each other an open relationship, that is not what he desires. He’ll wait for his love, content with their nightly Skype sessions. Unfortunately for Andrew, he falls prey to two vengeful women, one twenty-five years his senior. With the help of a conniving German gentleman—who has since university days lusted after Andrew—these Harpies mean to take fullest advantage of his winsome good looks and trusting nature.

Plunged into a nightmare of unseemly passion, intrigue and sexual enslavement, Andrew is even more desperate for the loving arms of his Bryony. If only she hadn’t disappeared. While he’s determined to survive the ordeal unscathed, without losing the love of his life and the erotic bliss he enjoys with her, Andrew fears the worst. After all, how long can a man escape his past with his virtue intact?

Body Language is a 58,000 word erotic comedy, the first in the Slave to Beauty trilogy. If you like your books erotically-charged and fast-paced, then you’ll love Tim Bartholomew’s tender treatment of love and his devastating indictment of lust.

This book is well-written and there are elements I enjoyed, but overall the bad outweighs the good. In the main part of the book (the lengthy middle section), the main character is raped, drugged, physically abused and injured by characters who are both physically and morally repugnant. Not my cup of tea, especially in this genre.

Andrew Billingham is many things—intelligent, attractive, naïve, and an absolute stud magnet for women (and at least one man, so far). In Body Language, by Tim Bartholomew, the first book in the Slave to Beauty Trilogy, Andrew encounters Naomi (a short-lived ‘love of his life’), Bryony (a much longer-lived ‘love of his life’), and two nefarious women partnered with a gay man that abuse his love life while nearly cutting short his life.
Andrew’s love and sex lives (there is a difference) are varied. On the one hand hilarious, on the other tragic, but in all cases highly erotic, passionate, and seemingly never ending. His natural simplicity leaves him open to all sorts of sexual adventure and trouble that will leave the reader struggling to hold back tears of laughter or the urgent desire to find a private place to “handle things.”

I am one of many Americans (I’m sure) that love British humor. I’m also a big fan of “word” porn expressed in sophisticated language. There are plenty of both in Body Language. In fact, if you’re looking for a novel that’s erotic, adventurous, and a true “page turner” wrapped in language that fits perfectly in the literature box, Body Language would be your book of choice! Tim Bartholomew is highly skilled in the mechanics of story-telling. In particular, and most important to me, is his ability to “show” rather than “tell” the story. His characters range from the offbeat to the down-right bizarre but at the same time magically empathetic and “normal” or, as in the case of the two nefarious women, merciless and “normal.” Action scenes waste little time in descriptive narrative relevant to place. Bartholomew prefers to get right into the action, and that’s a big plus for me. Readers of erotica, romance, comedy, and/or adventure will love Body Language. I did, and I’m definitely going to read the rest of the Slave to Beauty trilogy!

This was a very, very interesting read! T. Bartholomew painted some very vivid descriptions that started with plenty of erotic inclinations, and of course doing the dirty. Andrew and Bryony make a great couple; their witty banter comes through really well and the characters seemed like they went together really well.
This book consists of three parts; the second part is a bit uncomfortable to read at times because of its premise, but plenty of good literature has dubious and questionable material. The story also seemed quite self-indulgent, but I really enjoyed it and would definitely recommend it for its wit, and erotic nature.
