- Reviewed in the United States on February 8, 2017Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseThis is a sweet Christmas read. I was lucky enough to be gifted a copy of this book and the author was new to me. I really enjoyed the novella, a heartwarming tale of two people who only met because of their last minute decisions for the Christmas season. Set in a small New England town, we get a real feeling of community and of people who watch out for each other - a breath of fresh air in a world where such things are becoming the exception not the rule.
Deborah and Tony meet when Deborah, in an attempt to miss hitting a dog, hits a tree instead and Tony comes to her aid. Attraction blossoms and they begin a tentative courtship and as Christmas looms they grow closer, but neither seems able to admit their feelings. Just when you think it's all going swimmingly (or maybe that should be snowily), the unexpected happens. Will Deborah and Tony get their HEA? Now that would be telling, you'll just have to read the book...but, if you want a hint - it is Christmas!
The story is well written, a simple yet delightful tale about chance meetings, with a pleasing mix of great characters. I loved it

- Reviewed in the United States on January 22, 2016Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseVery interesting story and it grabs your imagination. I extremely enjoyed this book and I'm intriqued with her writing ability. I am going to wait patiently for her next book.
The romance part of the story was captivating and refreshing, as well as holding my interest from start to finish. There was also fun comedic bits dispersed evenly throughout the book that made me chuckle for awhile. It ended sweetly with the sudden progression into the relationship with the main characters. The way the author described the kiss scene in the book moved me in many ways. She brought the characters together in a loving way.
In conclusion, this book is a wonderful addition to anyone's collection of romance and holiday books. THIS IS A KEEPER!
- Reviewed in the United States on July 3, 2019Format: KindleVerified PurchaseThis is a sweet romance story of where two strangers bump into each other during the holidays. The ending is perfect. It's good for 15 and older. This story has trees, gifts, and ball dropping. It needs some editing but the style of writing is different which is refreshing. The author has many many books so check those out.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 18, 2019Format: KindleVerified PurchaseStory isn't bad, but the book desperately needs an editor, or at least a proofreader other than Spellcheck. Really annoying to read the wrong words over & over such as "won" vs. "one". Even more upsetting, were all the sentences where the verb tenses didn't match. What was all that vulgar language about? It comes out of left field & doesn't seem to be used in places where normal women would use it. Skip this one unless it has been cleaned up & reissued.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 4, 2019Format: KindleVerified PurchaseThe MC’s hit it off right away after a car accident. But Deborah’s parents’ surprise gift to New York has put distance between them. He searches all over the big city to find Deborah and tell her how he feels.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 4, 2019Format: KindleVerified PurchaseA cute idea was ruined by bad grammar and distracting shifting from present to past tense -- sometimes in the same sentence. Also word confusion ( like breaks for brakes) indicated the book's need for a good proofreader or line editor and a rewrite to clean up these problems.

5.0 out of 5 stars Christmas romance
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseThis is an absolutely charming tale of Christmas romance. The scene is set with beautifully atmospheric descriptions. Deborah and Tony are very likable characters who find one another whilst feeling lonely at Christmas. Their story is told at a perfect pace, and though a short story, it contains a lot of festive fun through every page from start to finish. A perfect holiday read!

1.0 out of 5 stars Terrible
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseOK, it was a short story, but even so, it didn't have to be that bad. Terrible grammer, stilted conversation, and no romance in it. Not the couple, the place, or the time of year. Just as well it was short
