Cannon by Sawyer Bennett is A Pittsburgh Titans Novel that will steal your heart and re-enforce why Bennett is a bestselling author! In this powerful story, the new Titans Head Coach Cannon West meets his match.... Cannon walked away from the game to care for his dying wife; he comes back to the game when the Titans came calling and now finds himself as the youngest Head Coach in the NHL. He is driven and carried with him the scars of the past, ones that go deeper than grieving his wife... nope not telling read the book... Ava and Cannon meet as he frequents the coffee shop she works at; the why and how Ava works here added depth to this story and makes for some great scenes (especially the one with the Titans owner; nope again not telling read the book) As Ava and Cannon slowly open up to each other as each comes to terms with both their connection being beyond chemistry and how their past needs to be left in the past I found myself glued to my kindle! This book is a great lesson on how well life works when you find the right person to craft your life with. I am so excited for Hendrix story next...  he was one of The Lucky Three so I know this one is going to be powerful! I hope the Pittsburgh Titans series never ends!!

    Sawyer Bennett weaves tales that you can’t help but look forward to the next book. Sometimes we meet both the hero and the heroine and sometimes we don’t. In this case, we have met Cannon West, but have not yet met his lady, Ava Cavanaugh.

    Cannon is one of those quiet characters that comes in and you don’t get to know a lot. You learn the basics. A widower that stepped away from hockey when his wife got sick. He is a coach that has moved through the ranks to become the youngest head coach for the Titans. But you learn so much more in this book.

    One thing that Sawyer Bennett always does right for me is the fact that her characters are real people who have real conversations. Now don’t get me wrong, there are characters that make missteps and miscommunications. But these two characters go above and beyond what we usually get. Cannon lives his life with boundaries. He feels that he needs those boundaries (read the book to find out just why) and when he enters into this new relationship with Ava, he is clear about those boundaries.

    Ava accepts and revels in the choices that these two make together. That is until the lines are blurred, and decisions are made, and hearts end up broken. When I review a Sawyer Bennett book, I want to shot from the rooftops how amazing it is and give you all the facts and good stuff. But you truly need to read this book to get lost in the emotion. Get lost in the transformation of the fact that sometimes the boundaries one sets for themselves keeps them from what they truly need and want.

    We get some great news about a fan favorite player, and little snippets in players from books past, and players form books yet to come. This series just keeps getting better and better. This is one series that I almost wish I waited until the very end to read because I want to binge it so badly.

    If you are an audio listener; it is superb!
    I eye ball read this book, and then listened to the audio. This is my first Stephen Dexter book, but his cadence and tone worked perfectly with for Cannon. Mackenzie Cartwright brings Ava to life in the perfect way.

    Cannon is the new Head Coach of the Pittsburgh Titans Hockey Team. Not only is he new, but he’s the youngest hockey coach in the league. With the weight of his position & everyone watching him, he’s out to prove he earned this job and make this the best team possible.

    Ava has had quite the roller coaster life. She is young & hard-working but unfortunately, she got herself in a position in her personal life that also affected her professional life and is now trying to work her way back up. She could take the easy way out & head back home to work for her parents, but she’s determined to make it on her own, so she takes a job as an Assistant Manager at a local coffee shop.

    This coffee shop is where Cannon stops to get his coffee fix every morning before heading to work. He sees Ava working everyday at the same table doing paperwork & purposely sits opposite her at the next table just to say ‘hi’ and make small talk while he’s there.

    Neither one is looking for, let alone thinking about, meeting someone because of their personal circumstances/schedules, but one morning after their daily “banter” turns flirty, Cannon just blurts out an invitation to Ava to go out & have a drink.

    Their chemistry is off-the-charts, but Cannon and Ava both have trust issues from prior relationships and don’t want to label this as anything more than an occasional hook up.

    This story is about love, trust & letting go. Cannon is a dream and Ava is someone you’ll root for throughout the book. It’s a great addition to the Pittsburgh Titans Series by Sawyer Bennett. I loved it!

    Cannon and Ava's story was yet another wonderful read-in-one-sitting book in a series that has rapidly earned a spot on my all-time favorite list!

    The youngest NHL head coach. A player who gave up his career to care for his dying wife. Both of those things describe Cannon, but they do not provide a full picture of his history and the man he has become. He is still very humble despite the attention of the media, and he enjoys his morning coffee at the same shop near his condo every day. The beautiful Ava is a bonus attraction at the shop, and he finds himself enjoying their verbal sparring and flirtation. He surprises both of them by asking her on a date, and when she agrees, the fun begins!

    Ava was burned by her last relationship when the breakup cost her not just her home but her job as well. She is determined to build a new future based solely on her ability to take care of herself, but struggling to make ends meet as a barista is taking its toll on her. She cannot understand why someone as rich and successful as Cannon would be interested in her, but she is surprised by how down to earth he is. When they get behind closed doors, he shows a different side and oh my, the heat level spikes!

    This man had me fanning myself and swooning all over the place. You just know their initial agreement to have a little fun without the confines of a real relationship is doomed from the start, but the reason Cannon shies away from relationships is a little heartbreaking. The lines start to blur and everything seems to be going OK- until it isn't thanks to a visitor from Cannon's past throws him into a tailspin. I love that Baden is the one to give him a good swift kick in the behind as a wakeup call, and I equally love that Ava stood up for herself to ensure that her heart and identity didn't get trampled in the process. There was some quality girl time too as the other Titans WAGS pulled Ava into their circle, and there was a particular scene with Brienne, Ava and Ava's ex that had me doing a little fist pump and cheer with a huge smile on my face. I absolutely loved this book and can't wait to see more of them in the future stories for other players!

    Cannon is a conundrum at times. Charismatic, personable and charming. A work focused individual with a favouritism for coffee at a certain venue, well maybe it’s the barista he fancies. Cannon’s story is full of wit and endearing qualities. A very enjoyable read.

    Loved the storyline and loved the connection between Cannon and Ava.
    Chemistry between them was hot, hot, hot.
    Glad they eventually found their hea despite the rules Cannon was trying to lay down, and the interference by Connie.
    Loving this series.
