A second chance romance from the author of Blinded by Love, Love's Witness, and The Cam Thomas series.

Everyone has someone who's Kryptonite, right?
When Connie Drake met Jenny McGregor, it felt as though the universe had conspired to bring them together; that fate was somehow stepping in to finally create the perfect partnership Connie had always wanted. Because Jenny ticked every one of Connie’s boxes.
Falling head over heels in love, however, didn’t quite go to plan.
Jenny’s fears for the future, and her past experiences, have left her unable to sustain a long-term relationship, and much to Connie’s distress, Jenny leaves.
Heartbroken, and encouraged by her best pals, Debs and Ashley, Connie decides that she needs to move on. Moping around isn’t helping. What she needs is to get away from it all; take some time out and relax, and the perfect opportunity comes along in the form of a Luxury Shipwrecked holiday adventure. Ten glorious nights basking in the Bahama sunshine, completely alone, is the perfect Jenny antidote.
Or does the Universe have one more trick up its sleeve?

Claire Highton-Stevenson is a British Indie author. She writes heartwarming, Sapphic romance in contemporary settings. Claire's characters are bold, strong, independent women who love women.

However, she is also known to throw in a mystery or two. Claire likes to move around the tropes at will, and will often bend the rules to create exciting and often unique situations. She's not afraid to tackle darker topics either.

Connie is just so distraught over her relationship with Jenny she can't seem to let go. Jenny has such a overwhelming feeling of complexity where relationships are concerned. She just could not trust how good things were, so she ran before people left her. Connie decided she would get away and work on letting go of Jenny. A trip to the Bahamas where she would spend 10 days alone "shipwrecked" on an island was her answer. Well Jenny was there and let's just say nothing goes as it was supposed to be.
I have not seen two people who work harder to be there for each other. Jenny has had some sort of trauma she can't seem to work through but Connie loves her. The way they use this experience to share time and work things thru was powerful. Connie kept moving toward Jenny even though she felt like Krytonite to her. Jenny was so hard to understand and that Connie could said more about love and understanding. I was waffling back and forth on this couple. The experiences they had and the time alone still was not "fixing" things. It is a reminder our mental insecurities take time to heal and sometimes tools to navigate life are the best we can do. What an amazing story of vulnerable perseverance to hold on to the love that can cast fears away. This is such a thoughtful, powerful look at love in a very different feel. Claire has tackled difficult issues with delightfully sweet moments. I think its challenging romance made me love these characters so much more.

Trying to get away from a broken relationship, Connie spent a whole lot of money to go on a shipwrecked adventure for ten days. But as she was in the hotel before boarding, the person she was trying to forget was directly in front of her with her latest boyfriend. Connie was trying hard to find some dignity as Jenny was approaching her. After a couple of run ins, they would be parting ways after a boat ride to the islands. But something was happening to the boat, and after an explosion both Connie and Jenny jumped off. What happens is a story of survival.
The story was an adventure and had sweet moments. I did find that this was not the usual story that comes from Claire. I liked it but did not love it.

That was an interesting reading experience. The whole structure was different from the usual romance novel.

Intriguing and maybe missing one more level, but an enjoyable read.

This is a well crafted story, interesting location, realistic description of. People and place. The plot was believable and interesting. The psychological issues were dealt with properly and convincingly, I appreciated that the characters were given a good deal of anxiety that matched their circumstances. It did not feel contrived so kudos to the author. This book may not be one for readers looking for an easy love story.

What an honest and relatable story. Trauma and triggers are a part of our lives. It’s just human nature, like breathing. This book depicts sensitivity and care, I loved every moment of how both women grow and care with each passing moment. It’s a storyline that is honest and true. Thank you for writing this.

This was a good story. A story about two people miss to be together but could not quite figure out a way to be together. Once they became shipwrecked they were forced to figure it out. A cute story that was well written.

I enjoyed the book of Connie and Jenny. It is so true how other outside things can affect a great relationship. I am catching up on all you books i have and catching up.

A very different but entertaining love story. A romance which is on the rocks between Connie and Jenny turns out to be a shipwreck. Each of the characters have their own mental struggles when it comes to romance and the emotions that go with it. Can Jenny stop running and can Connie solve her insecurities? A luxury shipwreck vacation turns into an unexpected reunion of the two protagonists and a real-life shipwreck. Highton-Stevenson always presents a story with a twist in the telling and this is no exception.

I read this book in one sitting - something I haven’t managed for years. I learnt a huge amount about myself and about managing relationships from what, on the surface, seems to be a romp in a beautiful location. The author is wise, calm and unendingly sparkling throughout. I loved it!

I was expecting some deep story, a solid reason for a main lead to behave that way. Nothing conclusive came out and it was boring at times.

Claire`s done it again, writing yet another unputdownable masterpiece. It has it`s fair share of laughs, but there was a lot of self reflection within the main characters too. A very deep, very moving read which will make you think about much more than the story itself
