Cosmopolitan Magazine calls Addison's books..."easy, frothy fun!"
Addictive from start to finish!
The Celestra series has been optioned for film by 20th Century Fox!
A halfbreed angel who can read minds, one too many love interests, and an entire faction of angels who are out to kill her—living on Paragon Island can be deadly.
From NEW YORK TIMES, USA TODAY, and Wall Street Journal bestselling author, Addison Moore.
My name is Skyla Messenger and I’m a dead girl walking. Not only is an entire faction of angels out to kill me, but I’m falling fast and hard for a handsome devil who happens to share my ability to read minds. And this island I’ve just moved to? I’m pretty sure it’s haunted. One thing is for sure, no angel in heaven and no devil in hell will keep me from my destiny.
I’m about to settle this unholy war that’s abounding for my people, and I’m going to do it my way. From New York Times Bestselling author Addison Moore comes a story of a girl who discovers she belongs to the most powerful angelic faction of them all.
Two hot boys are warring over her and an entire faction of angels want her dead.
Sixteen year-old, Skyla Messenger is a dead girl walking.
When her newly remarried mother moves the family to Paragon Island, to a house that is rumored to be haunted, Skyla finds refuge in Logan Oliver, a boy who shares her unique ability to read minds. Skyla discovers Logan holds the answers to the questions she’s been looking for, but his reluctance to give her the knowledge she desires leaves her believing Logan has a few secrets of his own. Skyla’s bloodlines may just be connected to the most powerful angelic beings that roam the earth, and the more she knows, the more danger she seems to be in.
Suddenly an entire faction of earthbound angels want her dead, but Skyla is nowhere near done living—and she's not going down without a fight. It's on.

- "A PARANORMAL ALICE IN WONDERLAND!!!"--Kindle Customer
- "It is definitely one of the most unique book series I've read. It was definitely WORTH THE READ!!!"--T. Eckels
- "SWOON WORTHY YA AT ITS VERY BEST!!!! I WAS HOOKED!!! My ADDICTION to Addison Moore's Celestra rivals any Twilight Fanaticism!!! My love for Skyla Messenger is immediate! A lot of "new" to deal with in moving to Paragon. A merging family... and still not over the loss of her father. A new school, and the whispers..... she moved into a house with a tragic past. One that will take Skyla by surprise. She finds an instant best friend Brielle who spills about the previous owners and the demise of the former owner of her new bedroom...... just cozy. Brielle introduces Skyla to Paragon seeing some sights and hitting the bowling alley. In Arcade Heaven ....... enter Logan and Gage Oliver......"--S.V77
- "ANGSTY angels gone WILD!!! The supernatural premise that will fuel the series is introduced enough to make readers aware of what they can expect while leaving mysteries to be explored later on. There's genuine appeal and novelty to the mythos that finds ways to distinguish itself from other series in a similar vein. Already I'm fascinated to see where the story is leading and what will come of the characters in it."--C. Wells
- "WONDERFUL NEW TAKE ON ANGELS!!! Very well written story that captured our attention very early on and kept us quickly thumbing through the pages up until the very end!"--Michelle's Paranormal Vault
- "THIS SERIES IS AMAZING!!! It is funny, sweet, unpredictable, and surprisingly philosophic. Moore has a way of writing beautiful things in a way that comes off genuine instead of cheesy. This series also has incredible characterization."-- Katie
- "FANTASTIC SERIES!!! They are GREATNESS. Addison Moore writes a fast paced story. She knows how to weave in the love and lust of teenagers and the HUMOR AND SUSPENSE TO KEEP YOU HOOKED!!!"--S. Summers
- "THRILLING YA ADVENTURE WITH A PARANORMAL TWIST!!!"--C. Wong
- "A ROLLER COASTER of Dark ADVENTURES and Plenty of ROMANCE!!! The story and characters were amazing--what a roller coaster!. I ended up love, love, loving this series! The book is packed with non-stop dark adventures and lots of crazy romance. The series will have your mind reeling till the end. I've read through the series several times plus even went on to read "The Countenance Trilogy" that follows it. Now I can't wait for the story's continuation in "Celestra Forever After"--D. Simmons
- "AUTHOR = GENIUS!!! The author has a WAY WITH WORDS in her novels that is unparalleled. Her descriptions, the metaphors and similes all leave you wondering not only how she comes up with these things but how in the world could you ever write like she does? I love the characters and I love that, despite the fantasy aspect of the plot, you could be them. They make mistakes, they curse, their hormones push them to do things that probably aren't wise - but they're real - they act like real teenagers. Skyla especially. And I love that about them. The plot does take a bit to really take off and yes there are TWISTS AND TURNS but I have yet to say to myself 'just end the series already' because I'm still invested! It takes quite a literary talent to make you feel like your part of the story, make you stay up until you finish the book. And Addison Moore is definitely a literary talent. I would definitely RECOMMEND this book (and series overall) if you like romance, suspense, fantasy, and overall...a good book."--J.M. BELL
- "LOVED THIS BOOK AND THE WHOLE SERIES!!! The pace is great in these books and it has so many twists and turns, ups and downs. It is next to impossible to ever find a good stopping point because something new and exciting is always happening or just around the corner. So instead of stopping you just keep reading and ignore everything else around! If you are looking for a series to get sucked into, this is the one, go out and read it today, don't wait another second!"--E. Poor
- "WELL WRITTEN AND EASY TO LOVE!!! This book was wonderful. The characters are well developed and it is clearly part of a series."--JoCo
- "ONE OF MY FAVORITE SERIES OF ALL TIME!!! Oh. Yes. One of my favorite series of all time. I love it so so so so so much. If you love twilight, the hunger games, harry potter, then READ THIS!"--Maggolies
- "LOVED READING THIS SERIES! I absolutely loved this series!" --Book Crazy Lady

- Reviewed in the United States on December 18, 2012The Celestra series by Addison Moore is a Young Adult fictional series involving angels. There are currently eight books out in the series with more to come. I'm warning you now, though that once you read this series you will not want to stop. So, why am I telling you this? Because, you will get to the last book currently out and it will leave you HANGING! And you will feel just like I did and go "WHAT?! You can't leave it there!". Consider yourself warned.
This series was riveting to say the least. I enjoyed the action, the love...square (read it you'll see what I mean), and the characters. This author is so very descriptive it is too easy to picture the setting, characters and action. There are three main "love interests" for our main girl, Skyla Laurel Messenger. Skyla lives with her mother, stepfather, sister and step sister and brother. We start off the series as the family is moving to Paragon Island from L.A. Skyla's biological father died two years previously and she still feels the grief from that loss. As the family pulls up to their new home, Skyla makes a friend right away with a girl that lives right next door, Brielle. She shows Skyla the hangouts and has her meet a few of her friends. Skyla discovers that the girl who used to live in the house she is moving in to, was murdered. The girl's name was Chloe and it turns out not only was Chloe friends with Brielle, but she was a very popular cheerleader a West Paragon High and had the same room that Skyla is using. Brielle takes Skyla to the local bowling alley which is run by a guy their age who inherited the place when his parents died, Logan Oliver. Logan's cousin, Gage Oliver, works there with him. Gage's family has raised Logan since his parents died. Skyla finds herself very attracted to Logan though she finds both the Oliver boys extremely attractive. Skyla has a unique ability to be able to read people's thoughts by touching them- a trait she shared with her father but as far as she knew, no one else. Skyla soon finds that Logan has this ability as well and eventually discovers she is a Celestra angel with a special purpose.
Another important quality about this book series is the price. I paid about a dollar to four dollars each for these books for my Kindle. I don't know about you, but with how much I read, I can use all the help I can get! I also liked the covers to these books. Now, admit it... it really does steer your decision to check into a book based on the cover. You know it does, mmm...hmmm. ;-)
But, I'd really only rate it 4.5 stars (option not available on Amazon) because there was a particular aspect in these books that could have been better explained. So, without giving away too much of the plot, when I got to the part in the book in which a very important war is to be fought and how these particular battles are to occur, it felt as if I was missing a big chunk of information. It was confusing to me as to how this all worked. Apparently, the characters in this war would be sent to the battle fields without any prior notice, just zapped there with only what they were currently wearing and what they currently know. So, why were the characters not preparing? I mean, if I was told I'd be dropped in the middle of a war with only the clothes on my back I'd be consulting with someone about battle strategies, doing some training and conditioning and even sleeping in my combat boots and pants...hello! That aside, this series really is fantastic and I whole-heartedly recommend it. Great reading!
- Reviewed in the United States on November 19, 2016Format: KindleVerified PurchaseMy Overall Thoughts
I read this book for the first time in 2012 and I remember it being better than it was when I read it this time around. That does NOT mean it was a bad read by any means. I actually really did enjoy reading this and it only took me a couple of days to read it during a work week.I just found myself frustrated with some of the situations throughout this book that probably didn’t bother me as a teenager. With age comes a change of perspective and I definitely think that’s what happened here–I got to read the book through a new lens.
Another aspect of the book I really liked is the love “situation” that takes place over the course of the story. No matter what the genre of the book is, throw in a good love “situation” undertone and I’m all for it. I’m a sucker for the unrequited love premise in a book, even though that’s not exactly what was going on here. But close enough for me and pretty much 100% of the time I join team under dog, so that gives me something to pull for. Plus it keeps me interested.
Pros
Frustration: Like I mentioned in my Overall Thoughts, throughout this book I found myself extremely frustrated. At first glance, this may seem like a downside but it’s actually a really, really good thing in my opinion. When a book can pull an emotion like this from you, how can you say that’s a bad thing?
Major Premise: I really like the major premise of the book being about Angels and certain bloodlines being killed off. I’ve never really read a book that was quite like this one, so I didn’t have anything to compare it. For example, there are so many vampire books out there so you find yourself saying “yeah, vampires can only be killed with a stake to the heart in all the other books too”. I wasn’t able to do that with this one, so it was like I was learning everything there was to know about Angels and their different bloodlines for the first time.
Unanswered Questions: After finishing this book, I was still left with a lot of unanswered questions. The book didn’t exactly end with a cliffhanger, but I still found myself thinking “wait a second, I still don’t know why or how this happened”. It makes you interested to read the next book, just for the sake of getting the answer to questions that were left untold in this one. I think this was done appropriately because you know there has to be another book–which in this case there are 9.
Cons
Relationship Dynamic: I was really disappointed by some of the relationship dynamic that took place in the story. I think the one that sticks out in my mind the most is between Skyla and her mother. I completely understand the “my parents are my worst enemy” teenage thought process, but this just goes to another level. Another is between Skyla’s mother and step-father, that’s just agonizing to read. Especially when it trickles down to affect Skyla and her mother. Then lastly, the relationship between Skyla and Gage is very unfair to put it into words that obey my Spoiler Free Policy.
Pace: The pace of the book could have been formatted a little bit better, in my opinion. It felt like some parts of the book were slow and then some parts were jumbled and took place to quickly. I just didn’t get the feeling that it evened out and flowed smoothly. Not that it was hard to follow or keep up with, I guess I just wanted some of the jumbled parts to have a little more detail.
Ending: The ending of this book is the MOST FRUSTRATING part of the book. The solution to the major problem that Skyla and Logan come up with at the end just left me thinking “Really? Y’all can’t possibly think that is going to work, do you?” Which in a sense is a good thing that it brought out that emotion in me, but at the same time I can’t help but think how naive the solution really is.

3.0 out of 5 stars Urban fantasy...
Urban fantasy...

5.0 out of 5 stars Great
Free download. I love reading about Angels, this story was very different. Skyla is a young girl with the usual hang ups. A silly step dad who rules everything including moving the whole family across the country. The very same day she arrives she meets Bree, who introduced Skyla to Logan and Gage Oliver, cousins. Skyla is instantly attracted to Logan and it would seem the feelings mutual. It's not until Skyla hears Logan's thoughts and realises that he has the same gift as hear, being able to hear thoughts by touch. They begin to see each other but then things start to go wrong when other fractions of angels look to hurt Skyla. Logan does his best to protect her but things need to change in order to protect each of them. This story is sweet and loving, even with the family angst and crappy things happening all around them. Their feelings are obvious. The other characters in the story make for interesting reading and provide a real feel. Overall enjoyed this book and can't wait to read more. Great paranormal read.

5.0 out of 5 stars BEST SERIES EVER!
This entire series will steal your heart, and your social life. It's impossible to put down! It's a perfect blend of comedy and action, of horror and romance and fantasy, and I'd read until my eyes became impossible to keep open. Addison Moore's beautiful imagination is amazing, and you'll fall in love with Paragon and all of it's residents. If you're into paranormal romance, this series is that and so much more. I urge you to read it! You will NOT be disappointed!
