Oil is vanishing from the Cisco field and revealing it becomes a death sentence

Newly trained and ready to rock her first assignment, Gwynn Reznick goes undercover, posing as an accountant for the Prudell Energy Company. After fending off the unwanted advances of a company executive, she stumbles on a murder scene staged to look as an accident. Then she learns another employee died in a suspicious oil well accident and a large quantity of oil is missing from the Cisco field.

˃˃˃ This book is a wild ride of action, adventure and mystery all rolled into one fast-paced story.

Her boss (and boyfriend) Ruben calls and warns Gwynn not to go poking her nose where it doesn’t belong and to wait for his directions. Will Gwynn be able to maintain her cover—or risk everything to crack the case?

˃˃˃ The gripping pace of the story is set from the very first page and this holds true to the end.

Readers' Favorite - International Book Awards Finalist ~Fiction - Mystery MurderMaxy Awards Winner ~ Suspense & Thriller"Cisco Bandits is full of action, taking undercover work to greater heights and keeping the reader guessing a story line lurking around every corner."- Maxy Awards★★★★★
"The novel has a Charlie's Angels' feel to it: pretty girls and a remote boss...Goss's greatest strengths, which are significant and not easily mastered, are authentic dialogue and solid plotting. She expertly tosses in an intriguing subplot regarding the town's scarlet woman and her odd son...the book's writing is solid and the story is engaging, providing a fast-paced, satisfying read" -
BlueInk Review ★★★★★
"Despite being a second book in the series, to my delight Cisco Bandits can be read as a standalone thriller. The strength of the novel lies in the way Goss brings the story to life, by pitting her protagonist against the odds. Gwynn finds herself as the next unfortunate employee or likely murder victim, when she is approached by Prudell's CFO about missing files and accounts that are not adding up. She needs to complete and, most importantly, survive her assignment." Readers' Favorite Reviewer ★★★★★

"Goss' prose is excellent. Ican certainly imagine, feel, and smell the vibe of the town and the office environment. The pace is fast and flawless, and the suspense is more than enough to keep readers on edge from start to finish. I loved the action scenes and enjoyed some of the humorous moments as well. Gwynn is brave and quick witted yet has relatable flaws, making it easy for readers to root for her. This is definitely a meaty novel for thriller and PI fiction fans to savor." - Lit Amri, Readers' Favorite Reviewer ★★★★★

"Cisco Bandits: A Gwynn Reznick Mystery... is a captivating murder mystery delivered with flawless expertise. The gripping pace of the story is set from the very first page and this holds trueto the end. Inge-Lise Goss did a remarkable job with the plot development and character portrayal, bringing to life a gripping story filled with just the right blend of intrigue, mystery, suspense and a touch of romance." - Faridah Nassozi, Readers' Favorite Reviewer ★★★★★

"What a fun read...this book isa wild ride of action, adventure and mystery all rolled into one fast-paced story... Author Inge-Lise Goss has done a fantastic job in creating characters that seem both realistic and that the reader can relate to, and some of the scenarios are so exciting that my heart will be pounding along with Gwynn's. Any reader who enjoys action, adventure, murder mysteries, or just a plain good read will love Cisco Bandits: A Gwynn Reznick Novel." - Tracy A. Fisher, Readers' Favorite Reviewer ★★★★★

There are more unexpected angles and maze like puzzles woven into this book than those of the very well known mystery thriller writers." --GradyHarp, Hall of Fame Top 100 Reviewer ★★★★★

Nevada author Inge-Lise Goss was born in Denmark, raised in Utah and graduated from the University of Utah, magna cum laude. She and her husband live in the majesty of Red Rock Canyon and after a career as a certified public accountant. Now she drinks in the scenery and turns it into her novels.

Inge-Lise introduced her well-sculpted character Gwynn Reznick in Volume 1 of this series named after the protagonist _THE COST OF CRUDE - and while this novel retains characteristics and characters form that initial novel it is most assuredly a stand-alone thriller. Before getting to the story it is worth noting that for many readers and fans of thriller novels (and this is most decidedly a Thriller!), the opening pages of the book are key as to whether or not a novel is going to produce. Inge-Lise offers a prologue that will likely have you holding your breath - not really giving away the story to come, but setting a chilling mood that is stunning. She adds the aspect that she happens to be a very fine wordsmith in the way she incorporates nature and natural atmosphere in lush prose.

But on to the story, as offered by the authors synopsis: Newly trained and ready to rock her first assignment, Gwynn Reznick, an undercover operative/private investigator specializing in high stakes business cases is about to go undercover for the first time. She will investigate one of the highly private companies who call on Ruben Dordi's Investigation Group. Ruben is the boss--and he also happens to be Gwynn's boyfriend. When Ruben gives Gwynn her assignment--to pose as an accountant for the Prudell Energy Company--Gwynn resists asking exactly what she's supposed to be investigating. She knows Ruben has his reasons--she's just not sure why they require her to go two months without even a hint as to why she's there. But things change quickly when Gwynn witnesses the death of a Prudell employee. It's made to look like an accident, but when Gwynn learns that another employee died just before she arrived, it seems like a little too much of a coincidence. When the CFO tells Gwynn about missing project files and data that just doesn't add up, Gwynn finds herself suddenly in over her head. Will she be able to maintain her cover, follow Ruben's orders, and get to the bottom of the mystery? Or will the killers get to Gwynn before she cracks the case?'

There are more unexpected angles and maze-like puzzles woven into this book than those of the very well known mystery thriller writers. This lady knows how to write, especially in creating a lead character who is bright, intuitive, able to take care of herself very well thank you, and still remain a solid female role model. Superb writing by a very fine storyteller with a strong career at her fingertips. Highly Recommended. Grady Harp, July 15

With a strong female lead, Cisco Bandits: A Gwynn Reznick Novel by Inge-Lise Goss is again a riveting mystery thriller, fast-paced, with well developed characters. With a strong opening scene, Goss hooks the reader into becoming fully engaged in the story. The main character, Gwynn Reznick, has been assigned an undercover task to find out about the inner workings of the Prudell Energy Company. What she is looking for, she doesn't know. However, as she becomes more involved, she soon discovers some discrepancies with the company and it's financial dealings. She also witnesses a murder and knows there is a cover-up. Is there something that Prudell is hiding and why? This book is the second in the series, but could easily stand on it's own as a solid whodunit. Gwynn is a likeable and realistically portrayed character. A little romance is also added to the book and doesn't detract from the overall plot. Highly recommend as a strong contender in the mystery genre.

Cisco Bandits is Book 2 in the Gwynn Reznick series, however it is a stand alone if you did not read The Cost of Crude, even though I highly recommend you read it. The Cost of Crude introduces readers to Gwynn, who is extremely resourceful and fearless, as well as her boss Reuben, who is efficient at running undercover operations. A love affair ensued, and the two are now engaged and enduring a long distance relationship - as well as employee/boss roles.

In Book 2, lead character, Gwynn goes on her first assignment after extensive training. Shortly after she arrives to investigate one death, two more occur, and the rookie detective witnesses both without the perps knowing. Gwynn's skills and technique are solid, however she occasionally becomes defiant and breaks rules in an effort to learn more about what's going on inside Prudell Oil. I could relate to her desire to learn as much as possible about who is involved and what dirty deeds are up their sleeves, but I'm not as strong as Gwynn and would likely crumble like a blubbering crybaby if I were tied up and slapped around.

Inge-Lise is an excellent writer with a nice moving flow whose twists and turns keep readers guessing who the bad guys might be. I guessed wrong, and am happy that I couldn't figure out the culprit(s). When we learn the villain(s) up front, we lose respect for an author's storytelling ability.

Will Gwynn's stubborn determination cause her to foolishly blow her first case and possibly lose respect of her fiancé and her job? Maybe even both?

Cisco Bandits has a strong cast of characters, but I'm eager to read Book 3 to see what happens with Gwynn Reznick and Ruben Dordi, and whether their love can survive the stress of treacherous working conditions.

I highly recommend this intriguing read with intricate plot twists for those who enjoy this genre.

Ms. Goss’ young woman protagonist, Gwynn, applies her natural ability to multi-task and her strong instincts for problem-solving in this perfectly paced thriller. Gwynn’s personality mixes just the right blend of youthful enthusiasm with hard-nosed gonna get-to-the-bottom-of-this smarts to be believable. It is a real pleasure to experience Gwynn’s evolution as an investigator and a person.
Coincidence? Not likely thinks the young woman with the stilettos in her hand. Right from the get-go, this book sets the stage for an enthralling tale that twists and turns to a highly unexpected ending. I read it before the first part, but I will go back and pick the other one now. I love it when you can read books in a series in any order. Highly recommended.

Gwynn Resnick, a new PI, is tasked with going undercover as an accountant for Prudell oil company by her boss and boyfriend Ruben. Arnie, an employee, now dead, is at the centre of the investigation. But when Gwynn comes across a murder, things take a very risky turn. Gwynn puts her own life in danger in order to get to the bottom of it. A great female lead with fabulous intuition does everything within her power in the search for answers. Exceptionally well written, awesome characters (Dave is great) and unputdownable. Looking forward to the next book.

Another story with a good ending from this author - I enjoyed Ruben even more in this new mystery of this series. I also liked the humor with a dash of romance in it as well, and was hoping for another book to this series, but found out the 3rd book I ordered the same day by this author, (Compelled), was a totally different story line, not a Gwynn Reznick mystery. I would give Cisco Bandits a 4 and a half stars review.
