About the author

Pamela Cowan is a Pacific Northwest author most recognized for her psychological thrillers. Her books are known for their dark and gritty themes, exploring the uglier side of human nature, but often with a twist of humor. Her short stories have been featured in various magazines, and anthologies, and have been broadcast on public radio.
With a background in Communications and Organizational Psychology, Pamela spent her career in social services, honing her understanding of human behavior, which she incorporates into her books.
An army brat, she was born in Germany and moved with her family 17 times before her father retired to Oregon, where she has steadfastly remained. She has two grown children, a remarkably patient and supportive husband, and a dog whose life-long goal is to end the tyranny of UPS, USPS and FedEx drivers.

- Reviewed in the United States on December 23, 2022When local women start disappearing, it’s up to the police to uncover what connects them, then draw the lines to who their attacker is and why. Pamela Cowan’s Cold Kill places readers, at times, in the mind of the attacker, then in the minds of his victims, then at the table with cops searching for solutions. Each point of view works convincingly in a story that combines physical ability and disability, mental stability and the slide to insanity, and the importance of friendship and kindness. It’s a truly scary story, sadly believable, and convincingly portrayed. Lots of action, lots of suspense, honest challenges, and an ending that’s both odd and satisfying. I enjoyed the read.
Disclosure: I’ve met the author online and found the book in a deal.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 5, 2022The setting of this storyline is somewhat deceiving as are the two main characters. Even if the reader accurately determines the ending, there is still more. Good character development and bravo for the medical research.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 9, 2018Vengeance is best served cold. Unless, it's undeserving and you're a crazy person. This was a great story of friends in blue who must deal with the consequences of their jobs. They, and their loved ones, become prey of a man not quite right in the head. Brainstorming leads them on his trail and the hunter becomes the hunted. This book makes you look around and think which of your friends is the ride or die type who will stand by you no matter what. And the ending...pure gold.

- Reviewed in the United States on April 22, 2018This is a page turner for sure. Real characters that you feel you know find themselves in a horrific situation and must find answers before its too late for them all. You'll be looking over your shoulder for weeks after reading this.
