Susan Bliler introduces her series with Conn Drago a man of integrity and dominant in his world. Trusted by his Alpha Monroe and followed by his elite warriors with no questions. As expected this series has an arch enemy called the Megalya, a Scientific based group that will go above and beyond to capture and destroy the Skin Walkers under the guise of saving humanity. Mercy and kindness is not in there nature. The odds against the Skin Walkers is high but this group of strong men and women are capable to withstand the constant attacks as they fight for the right to live. All is not bad in there world because fate has given each of them an Angel to bond with their Halo, a band worn around their necks given to their fated mate . This Halo system is of the utmost importance to the Skin Walkers. Now we meet Aries Bracken she has been written as a smart sassy strong woman with a high level of survival instincts and overly developed independent strain. For as long as she can remember she felt out of place with a sense of missing something just out of her reach and has helped her as she lives on the run. The energy and chemistry between these two is like landing on a live wire. As readers we enjoy the frenetic merry chase through South Americas city and Jungle and what a fun adventure it is. This author has created a world that is captivating and erotically charged you will be feeling the heat for sure. (The only confusion I had was the sequence book numbers listed on Amazon seems off. This is listed as book 5 but actually it is the first in the series.)

    I guess the older generation barely teaches the next generation. I would think teaching about the "affliction" would be as important as teaching them to be careful about when they shift. After all if you don't know the "affliction" hits you when you've met your mate there might not be a next generation.

    Aries Bracken has been running for more than a year, after being accosted by a man when she was leaving her job, she realized that it was more than just an attempted attack. She has been able to earn enough to pay her way from place to place and has finally ended up in the jungle of South America. Aries doesn't know why she is being sought, she has no friends, relatives or former lovers. She has always felt that something is wrong with her but doesn't know what it is.

    Conn Drago is a leader of an elite team of Skin Walkers - shape shifters who are able to assume from four to an unlimited number of shapes. They work to keep their world unknown by humans. Aries has all the characteristics of a Skin Walker but is completely unaware of her background. Sent to retrieve her by Mason EnemyHunter who thinks she is his long lost sister. Conn's only job is to take her back to the Skin Walker headquarters in Montana.

    There is a lot of action in this book and the relationship between Aries and Conn is vibrant and lively. Aries is an independent woman who has lived on her own since she left foster care and has her own way of living her life - it does not include a dominant alpha male who wants to tell her what to do.

    I really liked this book and plan to read the rest of the series, it is very engrossing. Well done!

    I first read this book back in 2013, 8 years and 19 books later and I am still enjoying them. When I first started reading digital books I didn't review them much. Didn't really think anyone would find my review interesting or helpful. Now, I read two or three books a week, and try to review each one good or bad (really try not to post negative reviews, if possible).
    The author created an amazing world. Mystical, sexy and full of action. While I found a couple of typos, not enough to bring me out of the moment and the writing is so well done that you get sucked into the world and characters. Strong, independent women finding strong and sensitive men who help make the world around them click into place.
    Conn and Aries are an incredible match. Finding their home in not a place but a who.
    Going through new experiences are always fun and educational, but much more exciting when shared.
    Highly recommend each book in this series.
    Well worth your time and $$

    Loved Conn and Aries. Aries is one tough girl she is strong and could take of herself I loved her. I wish there were more like her she is the perfect match for her mated Walker Conn he needs some one who can challenge him and challenge him she does as well as impressing him in the processes. I like the story thankfully it was more than just about sex it was about the lives and adventures of two people and it had a great supporting cast. Absolute great start to the series. The story doesn't have them falling in love in a week it takes some time so if your a fan of the quickies this may not be for you. I thought this story line was way more plausible it takes time to fall in love and for the Walkers it can be fatal. If you want more realism and action this is the series for you. I would recommend this.

    I can't remember when where or why I bought this book, I was just organising my kindle and stumbled upon it and having nothing new to read, well, the obvious happened.

    In brief, I enjoyed this book though I beleive it fits somewhere in the middle of the Skin Walker series. It works ok as a stand alone novel despite being related to a series and although it was relatively short It was ok.

    And thats my rating I'm afraid - it's ok. Not a masterpiece, nor is it awful. I think my major let down with this book was the lack of depth when it came to the main two characters interactions specially in the end few chapters. It was good up until 75% of the way and then it slowed down to the point where the story could quite have easily been rounded of. Unfortunately the extra chapters didn't lend much to the characters other than to throw in a few more disputes, a few more make ups and the happy ever after ending you come to expect from this genre.

    It was enjoyable, but more depth would have been nice I think. Still I will be reading the rest of the series, my curiosity has been sparked and although parts of this book lacked substance it was easy going and proved to be a nice read to pass a few hours. Honestly, if you go in without expectations I'm sure you'll enjoy it, if you go in with high expectations or expecting a complex novel, well, you'll be disappointed.

    this was the first one i read in the skinwalker series, and fell in love with it completely, downloaded the rest in the series and glad to say not one of them dissapointed me. the story had me hooked from start to finished and i would reccomend the skinwalker series to anyone.
