This series never fails to amaze me! I’m always sucked in from page one and I need to keep going to find out how it ends. Daisy did frustrate me in the beginning. I needed her to tell Mark, or anyone, the truth! I wanted to shake some sense into her! Lol her background story was heartbreaking, and I totally felt for her. My favorite part about this series is you always get to see characters from the other books. They’re all so wonderful. Can’t wait to read Eight!

Each book in the Count to Ten series never fails to give me both thrills and chills! Each book has a gripping mystery that takes my imagination to places that are just terrifying but the cast of characters are just so endearing that they keep me coming back for more. In Seven, Daisy and Mark seemed to have a perfect life until the one day Daisy left. Not only did she leave Mark but she left her children behind as well. With no explanation and no excuses. It was the question of her motivation that had everyone casting doubt as to what Daisy was caught up in when someone she had a connection to was discovered at a crime scene.

There were plenty of twists and turns in this story because Daisy’s motivation always came into question. Trying to piece together how she was possibly connected to the murders that were taking place was quite mysterious and intriguing. It was really hard to feel the parts from the kid’s points of view because they were hurting over their mother’s abandonment. I liked that I was able to consider Daisy’s choices in terms of would I have made the same choices in her shoes. That definitely had me turning the pages to see where the story was going to take me.

I loved the suspense element in Seven! When the true reason that Daisy had left her family was revealed I was definitely surprised and horrified for her. The crime element in this story was probably one of the most horrific yet. In terms of the romance element, it was hard for me to get “caught up” in Daisy’s and Mark’s struggles and really connect to them because their relationship had already been established and I didn’t really respect Daisy for her choices. I will be honest though, Seven absolutely left me feeling unsettled! There was a story thread that was left open that I wish had not been. I am desperately hoping that there is justice for a certain victim in this story in the next book, Eight. Overall though, this was an engaging read that is a wonderful addition to this series!

This review is based on a complimentary book I received from Author, Jane Blythe. It is an honest and voluntary review. The complimentary receipt of it in no way affected my review or rating.

Just when you think this author couldn’t possibly think up any more new, inventive evil ways of torture and cruelty to others... think again! She is an absolute queen of crime and suspense.

I have to say that the character Daisy drove me nuts in the beginning. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Yet, I did understand, even when we readers didn’t really have the full knowledge of what was going on. I wanted to shake her though and tell her what she should do. 😄 I felt sorry for her at the same time. I felt terribly sympathetic towards her husband Mark and their children, though, who were so hurt and bamboozled by her behaviour.

Not knowing what fuelled the murderer to go on his killing spree intrigued me greatly and even though tiny puzzle pieces were gradually slotted in I was still eager to find more answers until everything was revealed. I was totally hooked by this storyline, absorbed by the minute details that had been given careful consideration, especially the gruesome and violent killing techniques that were amazing and by the construction of the plot. The twists and turns you come to expect from this author are there in abundance and what a treat they are too.

This is the 7th book in the series and I want to scream!!! Detectives fall for the victims...where almost all of them are assaulted. They say they need to interview pertinent witnesses then don't for several days. The women are all wishy washy mind numbingly dumb you want to wish for their deaths. The female detective makes the worst decisions of any too stupid to live person in history and is so weak she can't handle even any little bit of danger and passes out from anxiety attacks... someone please fire her from the police force! The main female character in this book is so selfish she chooses to keep her past hidden "to keep her family safe" and hey go ahead and kill innocent people as long as she can keep her secret...her husband's family are all officers but then again they have no common sense to possibly keep her husband and kids safe.
Here is the best part apparently fires can destroy an entire house even mansions in less than five minutes destroying any and all evidence...if that was the case then everyone who was in the house would have died.
Her characters have no backbone and are so self absorbed they put others lives on the line just so they can keep secrets or keep from embarrassing themselves by having a negative situation shared about them...I say let the entire line of characters be demolished and start over with people who don't put themselves over other people's lives....definitely not impressed with this series.
The author is trying too hard for shock and awe and the stories have too many working levels for her to keep her own details fluid and incorrect from one book to the next often getting ages and names correct. I will be deleting this series from my kindle just not worth wasting the space on these.

This book draws you in from the beginning it involves Mark's wife Daisy.
Daisy is desperate to protect her family so makes a hard decision to leave.
The death of the school principal and the fact she has been seen with him pulls the Detectives towards her.
Another book with lots of twists and turns along with new characters been involved.
I'm really looking forward to reading Eight

Omg! So much happens in this book. It was packed with suspense and jaw dropping moments.

Sometimes the past doesn’t stay in the past. It comes back to haunt us, and makes our lives a living hell. That is the case for Daisy in this story....

Don’t want to give too much away. I advise reading books in order for this series. All have been so good
