Lynette was born in London, but moved to Burnley, Lancashire when she was a small child. From the tender age of five she was raised by her grandmother and given books to help keep her quiet. Lynette found she had a passion for reading and subsequently started writing once she began school.

Years later, Lynette’s husband was so impressed with her ability to capture children’s imaginations with her stories that he encouraged her love of writing by buying her a laptop in the hope she would write something more substantial. So, with a little push in the right direction, Lynette decided to write a fantasy trilogy and the subject would be something that all children love to read about (and most adults too) – magic!

Her inspiration came from childhood books written by Enid Blyton. The Enchanted Wood and The Faraway Tree were her first real taste of fantasy and the reason why she writes today.

Her first novel, Sinners of Magic, was published in 2012 and is now receiving attention from both London and American film producers. Betrayers of Magic became the second book of the series followed by Defenders of Magic.

Lynette has since had one of her short stories published in America, hitting No 4 in the US bestsellers charts. The Witching Hour is only available via Amazon Kindle.

Lynette now lives in North Lincolnshire with her husband and King Charles spaniel, Ruby. All of her grandchildren are the apple of her eye.

    Don't miss this!
I love how this started out, meeting the characters in ways that did not overwhelm me as reader. I love a book where I don't have to constantly go back and forth in chapters to figure out who is who, so I can get right to the story. The suspense builds at a brilliant pace, and by the time I was near the end I was gasping. A great read, and it left me totally satisfied as I finished.
I have to mention the cover of this book. It is so stunning, and even prettier in person. Enjoy! I sure did.

After a long wait, Lynnette Creswell came up with not only a change of genre (I think she likes keeping her readers on their toes) but a book that is a real page turner and one that you can't put down till you finish it. Mia Stevens, the main character, finds herself facing her mother re-marrying the father of two possible troublemakers as new male family members - not something she wants to deal with at all. However one of the brothers has decided that he wants Mia and tries to intimidate and frighten her into attending the wedding. Terrified, she runs away to London where she moves in with her Uncle and through him meets a young man who turns out to be the love of her life but circumstances dictate that the path of true love does not run smooth, her lover leaves her, she's forced to attend The Wedding, she assaulted and left unconscious and things just keep happening to her. Once again, due to circumstances outwith her control her life is turned upside down and inside out, she's got a new baby, no lover, strange happenings and goings on, secrets start to come out of the woodwork and Mia is at the centre of it all. How does this all turn out? Is there a happy ending for Mia? Just how dark and sinister are these secrets and lies? To find the answers to these questions you'll have to read this page turned of a book by an already recognised author who has one book in the hands of Holywood and one can't help but wonder what it would make of this one??????

In this emotional story, I joined Mia, a young girl who has to grow up quickly when her mother plans to remarry.
Scared and intimidated by her new 'step-brothers' Mia runs away to stay with her uncle.

From the start, I felt for Mia and suffered her sorrow and pain, as well as her hopes and happiness, as her life takes some unexpected twists and turns.

Cracks In The Glass is a good mix of danger, suspense and romance, with a touch of paranormal.

This book is truly a must read. The main character, Mia is so lovely and you feel her struggles throughout the story, willing things to go well for her. Without giving spoilers, sadly they don’t, but she is a resourceful girl and you can’t help but admire her tenacity. Her ‘supportive friends’ play a part also, and I loved one particular character. Angel so much, I’m secretly hoping for a sequel about her alone as I’d love to know more.
This book is essentially a love story, but with twists and turns along the way which will ‘sadden, and gladden’ you as the reader. Mia is a young girl that has to grow up quickly, and the pleasure for the reader is following exactly how she does that. You understand her overwhelming love for Ethan, and feel her very rational fears from the torment she faces. The pages turn effortlessly towards an ending I didn’t see coming. For me, this book has a bit of everything, romance, anger, motherhood, family feuds – you name it, it’s in there, making it a perfect read for any female regardless of age. But be warned, once you begin reading it, you won’t want to put it down so don’t be starting it if you’ve got work the next day!

There are few authors who can pull off a complete direction change in their chosen genre - Lynette Creswell has succeeded where others failed, or did not dare to venture. Her previous books, The Magic Trilogy (I was never really a fan of fantasy, but these had me hooked from cover to cover!) could not be more different to Cracks In The Glass. This is reality, with a hint of the supernatural. From the first sentence, you live and breath with the main character, Mia. You feel her pain, her heartache and her hope, as she is subjected to some of the worst things life can throw at you. You are not just reading a book, you are hovering above her, silently screaming ''Watch out!" or "Run!''. There is danger, suspense and a very unexpected twist at the end, which will leave you craving more. I very much look forward to reading more from this very talented author.

An emotional tale that sees young Mia blossom into an incredible woman. With the dead of her father from Leukaemia, Mia's mother soon decides to re-marry. I instantly sensed the tension between mother and daughter, two characters who are nothing alike.

Mia's relationships with others go through moments of turmoil as life leads her down an unexpected road. There were many shock twists to this story, each one leaving me either speechless, or screaming at the main characters.

Themes of loss coloured this story emotionally and helped me to connect with Mia's character. Books like this one make my day.

    I rate it 5/5 stars.

The story of Mia and Ethan kept me reading until the very end. There are several twists in it to keep the mystery going. Very descriptive. I would recommend.

5.0 out of 5 stars A brilliant page turner

A brilliant page turner. I immediately warm to the characters of the book. The story tells of Mia’s relationship with her family. She is close to her sister and her relationship with her mother is…well, let’s say, Mia is more like a mum to her mum. We learn of family tragedy at the beginning of the book and the disturbing news that her mum announces to Mia about her forthcoming marriage to a Sam who has two not very pleasant sons. This news forces Mia in taking a different journey in her life. You have to actually believe in “fate” in Mia’s next journey life and the characters she is introduced to. One of my favourite characters in the book was Angel. I really did not how Mia would decide her future, but glad that she chose the one that she did. A beautifully written book, with great twist and turns, there was never a dull moment in the book and a definite page turner. Lynette is definitely up there with the heavyweight authors. I look forward to reading the next book in this genre.

Plenty of suspense, relieved at times with romantic joy and a touch of the paranormal, kept me on an emotional roller coaster with Mia. I really cared about her, her hopes and fears and the upheavals with her friends and family.
From the great title, through the well constructed plot with sympathetic characters and sleazy villains, to the satisfying end, 'Cracks in the Glass' is unputdownable!
