TRACEY

One night left my heart shattered and my reputation ruined, and now my only hope is to transfer to another university far from home. Although I’m a champion figure skater and am used to succeeding, I can’t dump the burden of distrust and intimacy I’m carrying.

But when I literally crash into the cocky captain of the hockey team, sparks fly, and the attraction is as undeniable as it is unwanted.

No way is this arrogant hottie the one to help me move past my fears. Or is he…?

DAK

Overwhelmed with guilt and remorse, I can’t forget the tragic accident that killed my first love. To avoid ever feeling that kind of agonizing loss again, I vow to stick with one-night stands with every puck bunny who glides my way and focus on keeping my position on the hockey team.

But after I meet a feisty figure skater and am then thrown together with her as a lab partner, I find I want to melt the icy walls we’ve built around our hearts.

If we don’t strangle each other first.

As a lover of the northeast US, my husband and I moved to the Poconos several years ago to open a Chiropractic Clinic. Four children and a menagerie of animals later, I have finally found time to fulfill my lifelong dream of writing novels. A dreamer at heart, romance is---of course---the genre I spend most of my time writing and reading into the wee hours of the morning. However, if it's a good book, any genre can keep me immersed in the story for hours.

When I’m not juggling work responsibilities and writing, I enjoy baking, knitting, traveling, hiking the beautiful hills and woods around my home and spending time with my family,

Dakota Anderson is the captain of the ice hockey team. After losing his love, he's determined he won't open his heart again. Life is all about his studies, hockey and the occasional one nighter to satiate himself. Things are going as planned until he literally crashes into a beautiful figure skater while practicing one day.

Tracey Hayward transferred schools after suffering a massive heartbreak and humiliation. She wanted a fresh start which includes finishing her degree and skating. She's promised herself no more men, not even for sex. All is going well until the crash with a super hot hockey player on the ice. Now they're stuck as lab partners in a graduate class they share. Can they fight their attraction to one another or will they be able to heal each other and finally be happy?

Dak certainly seemed to be the jackass Tracey dubbed him as in the beginning. I was heartbroken for him and the guilt he carried for his past. When he felt rejected or cornered, he turned on his jackass mode and pretended to be the player he had been, whem he really wanted to be a man worthy of Tracey.

I loved the strength and perseverance Tracey had. Yes she changed schools to get away from the big mistakes she made, but she held her head high and made new friends. She had an immense attraction to Dak, but she couldn't possibly act on it. She doesn't feel she can count on her instincts in order to not be hurt again. She's never been able to judge anyone properly and her history has proven that.

I truly enjoyed this story of second chances. Both characters are damaged and hold their own demons. When they came together they were perfect for each other. Dak had so much love to give and you could feel how he wanted to protect Tracey's heart. I loved getting to know each character. I do wish it didn't feel as rushed in the end but overall, I enjoyed the story and had a hard time putting it down. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series.

Started a bit slow, but the book really grew on me. Dak's character was more unique than Tracey's. The guys who share Dak's house, Nikki, and Heaven would make for a great series. Am hoping we don't have to wait long for another "On the Edge" book. The end was slightly rushed. I wanted to know what happened to Bri after she made a dramatic appearance near the end. That was too big an event to not have it better resolved.

I liked this book but not enough to re-read it. The MC's were interesting and likeable. The storyline was good. Overall, the book was good but not great. Good enough to read once but not good enough to recommend to a friend.
The H is a college hockey player. He carries guilt over something that happened 3 years prior and now avoids relationships.
The h is a graduate student that just transferred from another college due to ex-boyfriend drama. They meet for the first time at the ice rink and then again in a shared class.
A few quotation mark mistakes and a characters last name mistake.

Cross Stroke (On the Edge #1) by Elizabeth Hartey
    4 stars
    M/F Romance
Triggers: Revenge porn, cheating, M/M relationship within the story

After having to decide whether or not Tracey could continue with her education, she decides that moving schools is the way to go. She is also an amazing ice skater and is able to join the club team of her new school. Since ice time is hard to come by, the skating team will also run in to the hockey team from time to time.

Dak is cocky and arrogant. He is also smart, kind and full of guilt. He sees something in Tracey and despite his friends loving being single and having puck bunnies over every night, Dak wants something more.

When Tracey realizes that she lives right next door to Dak, can she retreat enough to protect her heart? Dak and Tracey have good chemistry. They banter like old friends, but can steam up a room just as quickly. I love that they start as acquaintances and learn to trust each other. Each character has pain in their past and when they share that with each other, you get to see their relationship evolve and grow.

I loved their story. It was sweet at times and I loved their banter. I can't wait to see if they will show up in the next book or if it will be about Tracey's lovable roommate.

Nice read but it could definitely use some polishing. But despite some continuity problems and some factual errors it was a cute story.
