Crown Court Killer (London Podcast Mystery Series Book 3) Kindle Edition
Months after saving their flamboyant theatre friend from disaster, Dannel Ortea and Osian Garey are back with a thrilling murder investigation in the third London Podcast Mystery series novel.
Dannel and Osian's breakfast double date rapidly devolves into a murder mystery when a dead body is found in their solicitor friend’s car. Wayne is taken for questioning by police. He was last seen arguing with the deceased.
When Wayne’s tie is identified as the murder weapon, it’s hard to refute the growing evidence stacked against him.
Convinced of their friend’s innocence, Dannel and Osian throw themselves into the investigation. When Wayne’s boyfriend, Roland, finds himself suspended from the police, they realise powerful people are involved in the murder.
With a philandering crown court judge, two disgruntled wives, and an angry client as suspects, the clock is ticking for them to find the killer before Wayne winds up arrested—or dead.

About the author

Dahlia Donovan wrote her first romance series after a crazy dream about shifters and damsels in distress. She prefers irreverent humour and unconventional characters. An autistic and occasional hermit, her life wouldn’t be complete without her husband and her massive collection of books and video games.

- Reviewed in the United States on June 8, 2022I do adore Dahlia Donovan's London Podcast Mysteries and I was thrilled when I found out that there was going to be a third book added to the series! Crown Court Killer finds engaged couple Dannel Ortea and Osian Garey continuing with their London Crime Podcast and contemplating handing off the reins of wedding planning to Osian's sister. They do, however, become involved in a murder mystery when their friend, solicitor Wayne Dankworth, who also happens to be Dannel's younger brother's partner, is the sole suspect the police focus on. As the evidence mounts against Wayne, Osian and Dannel race to find clues and uncover secrets. As they dig deeper, it looks like they're up against a formidable foe, one who isn't going to hesitate taking anyone down in order to get whatever they want. Can Oz and D solve this mystery before it's too late?
While I loved the first two books in the series, Cosplay Killer and Ghost Light Killer, this third addition is my favorite. I appreciate how Dahlia Donovan strikes just the right note with these mysteries. The romance is still there, even with the heavier dose of mystery, and I certainly have no complaints. Osian and Dannel, aka Oz and D (a moniker Dannel is absolutely thrilled about...NOT!), are two people clearly secure in their relationship and they so work well together, both as a committed couple and as amateur sleuths. I do think that trying to find out who was framing Wayne was their most complex mystery to date. I had my suspects, but when everything was revealed, suffice it to say that I was a wee bit gobsmacked that I hadn't put the pieces together. Gah! Fingers crossed we get more from this series. I'm handing Crown Court Killer five stars.

Once again book three delves into another murder where the wrong person is suspected of the crime, Osian and Dannel know they need to try to help solve the mystery before Wayne, Roland’s boyfriend, is stitched up for it. This is cosy mystery writing at its cosy best, I honestly feel like I am popping on my comfy slippers and settling back for the best relaxation when reading one of this author’s books.
Osian and Dannel are their usual gorgeous selves, both showing their love in little ways that mean a lot and demonstrates how caring they both are towards not only each other but their friends, too. I always enjoy the fun banter between the characters and especially liked the conversations between Detective Haider and the boys, which is one of the main reasons for the extra star.
I love how the author mentioned another series in this book, the crossover was cleverly done and perfect for the boys’ podcasts. All of the characters in this series help to make it the wonderful entertainment it is and I can’t recommend it enough.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 31, 2022I am hoping this isn’t the last we see of Osian, Dannel and the gang. I love these two and how they solve these murders they are thrown into. In this one we have them thrown in in a more personal way. Dannel’s brother and his boyfriend are the ones in trouble and Osian and Dannel cannot sit back and let them be accused or caught up in something that they didn’t do.
Here Wayne’s colleague is murdered and he is the main suspect. Only the one murdered is one that many would want to see gone and is high up in the society chain due to his wife and her connections. These connections are ones that cause some aggravation for Osian and Dannel as they ask questions and cause a ruckus in order to clear Wayne. With their friends by their side helping to find out the truth and power trips being played we see them navigating unfamiliar waters. I love how their friends, from all walks of life, help them as they go on this latest adventure in their fun fashion of approaching things.
These two are so sweet and fun. I love how Osian protects Dannel and is so lighthearted and fierce as well. These two just warm your heart and are so so fun. They stumble into things and find their way to the truth in sucn an unorthodox fashion that warms your heart. The story has you guessing along with them as they find things out and just keeps you in the moment. A great story and I hope isn’t the last in their series.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 28, 2022Third in series (London Podcast Mystery), best if read in order due to the continuing cast of characters. Established couple. Dual POV. Back in London with Osian and Dannel and I couldn’t be happier with this comfort read. A few months after the last book’s mystery, Osian and Dannel are happily planning their wedding while working on their true crime podcast and cosplay costume fabrication business. As expected they are drawn into the investigation of a murder when one of their friends is suspected and they call in their entire friend group to help with their amateur sleuthing to the exasperation of the police. The steady, familiar and loving relationship of Osian and Dannel is my favorite part as well as the supportive and caring group of family and friends. Constantly questioning suspects and trying to uncover the truth while eating pizza and chips, and crisps and cake, this book is another great addition to the series and I smiled throughout the reading. Not sure why this series by Dahlia Donovan entertains me so much, maybe the likable characters, the excellent writing and the cozy mysteries, but I am here for however many more the author is willing to write.

5.0 out of 5 stars London Podcast Series Book 3
The third book in the series finds Ossian and Dannell trying to clear the name of Wayne, Dannell’s younger brother’s boyfriend, after a body is found in the boot of his car.
Every bit as good as the previous books in the series, there are plenty of suspects, surprises and not a little humour.
